🧠 Did you know? Studies show that sitting for more than 6 hours a day can increase the risk of spinal disc degeneration and chronic low back pain by up to 48% (National Institutes of Health, 2020). Extended sitting reduces spinal mobility, weakens postural muscles, and limits blood flow to the discs that cushion the spine. Over time, this leads to stiffness, nerve pressure, and persistent pain.

Simple changes can make a lasting difference — standing for a few minutes every hour, stretching the back and shoulders, and incorporating light movement throughout the day can significantly reduce these risks. According to the World Health Organization (2023), short, frequent activity breaks help restore spinal flexibility, improve posture, and protect long-term musculoskeletal health.

Movement matters. Walking is one of the most effective, low-impact ways to maintain spinal and joint health. Studies indicate that 15–30 minutes of daily walking can lower the risk of lower back pain by up to 25% (Journal of Physical Therapy Science, 2019).
Regular movement strengthens core and back muscles, improves posture, and enhances blood circulation to spinal discs — helping prevent stiffness and degeneration. Every step fosters flexibility, reduces tension, and supports the natural alignment of the spine — the true foundation of a strong, active, and pain-free life.

≈ 30.4 % of Bangladeshi adults live with a musculoskeletal condition. (Source: National Survey on Musculoskeletal Health, Bangladesh). Arthritis remains one of the leading causes of pain and disability worldwide, affecting millions across all age groups. Early diagnosis and proper management are key to maintaining mobility and quality of life.

Mental health remains an essential yet often underprioritized part of humanitarian and public health response. Global data from the World Health Organization shows that one in five individuals affected by emergencies experience mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety, or post-traumatic stress disorder. Limited access to care during crises prolongs suffering and delays recovery. Integrating equitable, community-based mental health services into disaster and emergency systems ensures stability, compassion, and continuity of care for all.

"Cataract causes approximately 47.8% of global blindness." (Source: World Report on Vision, Geneva: WHO; 2019). Sight lost from a cloudy lens is preventable and treatable when action meets access. Cataract remains the world’s leading cause of blindness — yet it is both preventable and curable. With timely detection and access to cataract surgery, millions can regain clear vision and quality of life. Raising awareness and improving eye-care accessibility can move the world closer to a future free from avoidable blindness.
