Department of Physiology, North East Medical College, organised a Physiology Project Presentation, today 30th November, 2025; showcasing various aspects of human physiology by the 1st Year MBBS (28th Batch) students, under the slogan “Young Minds, Big Concepts.”

The program was coordinated by Prof. Dr. Mahmuda Quamrun Naher, Head of the Department of Physiology, along with other esteemed faculty members.

The event was graced by:

Prof. Dr. Md. Nazmul Islam, Principal, North East Medical College.

Prof. Shahriar Hussain Chowdhury, Chairman, Governing Body, North East Medical College.

Prof. Dr. A. F. M. Nazmul Islam, Vice Principal, North East Medical College.

Prof. Dr. Alamgir Adil Samdany, Chairman, Medical Education Unit, North East Medical College.

Students presented innovative projects titled “Heart Circulation,” “Living Barrier,” “The Breath Maker,” “Gateway of Life,” “Team Erythropoiesis,” and “Blood Collection with Care.”

This presentation program aims to develop confidence, boost creativity, enhance presentation skills, promote active learning, and strengthen teamwork, preparing students for their future endeavours.

The highly successful event concluded with our Principal Sir awarding every team-a truly inspiring moment for all students!

ফ্রি মেডিকেল ক্যাম্প সফলভাবে সম্পন্ন

আজ ২৭ শে নভেম্বর, নর্থ ইষ্ট মেডিকেল কলেজ হাসপাতালের রক্ত দাতা সংগঠন “জীবন” এর আয়োজনে কুলাউড়া উপজেলার ভুকশীমইল এলাকায় একটি ফ্রি মেডিকেল ক্যাম্প, ফ্রি মেডিসিন বিতরণ ও ব্লাড গ্রুপিং ক্যাম্প অনুষ্ঠিত হয়।

"জীবন" এর সভাপতি ডা.স্বপন জানান দিনব্যাপী এই ক্যাম্পে বিভিন্ন বিভাগের ডাক্তারবৃন্দ প্রায় ৬২৬ জন রুগীকে বিনামূল্যে পরামর্শ ও ওষুধ প্রদান করেন।

প্রথমেই দিনের শুরুতে নর্থ ইষ্ট মেডিকেল কলেজ হাসপাতাল ক্যাম্পাসে উপস্থিত থেকে ক্যাম্পেইন এ যেসব ডাক্তাররা যাবেন তাদেরকে উৎসাহ প্রদান করেন- নর্থ ইস্ট মেডিকেল প্রাঃ লিমিটেড এর ব‍্যবস্থাপনা পরিচালক ও নর্থ ইস্ট মেডিকেল কলেজ এর গভর্নিং বডির চেয়ারম্যান অধ্যাপক ডা.শাহরিয়ার হোসেন চৌধুরী,নর্থ ইস্ট মেডিকেল কলেজ এর সম্মানিত অধ্যক্ষ অধ্যাপক ডা.নাজমুল ইসলাম,নর্থ ইস্ট মেডিকেল কলেজ হাসপাতালের পরিচালক অধ্যাপক ডা.জসিম উদ্দিন, নর্থ ইষ্ট প্রাইভেট লিঃ এর পরিচালক আবু আহমেদ সিদ্দিকী সহকারি পরিচালক ডা.মুনতাসীর আলম রাহিমি, জীবন এর উপদেষ্টা ডা.আলাল,ডা.আফতাব।

📢 Scientific Seminar on Airway Management in ICU, organised by Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of North East Medical College & Hospital.

On 24th November 2025, a highly productive session focused on the latest evidence-based protocols, techniques, and multidisciplinary strategies essential for optimizing patient outcomes in critical care settings was arranged at North East Medical College, Conference Room.

Thank you to the esteemed speakers for sharing their expertise. Continuing education is key to clinical excellence.
The program was honored by the distinguished presence of Prof. Dr. Shahriar Hussain Chowdhury, Honourable Chairman, Governing Body, North East Medical College.
The session was presented by Dr. Estiaqe Ahmed Evan, Medical Officer, ICU, NEMCH.

Today, 23rd November 2025, the Department of Anatomy, North East Medical College, proudly organized a highly successful Seminar and General Meeting of the Anatomists of Sylhet Medical University.
The program was honored by the distinguished presence of Prof. Dr. Shahriar Hussain Chowdhury, Honourable Chairman, Governing Body, North East Medical College. The event began with a warm welcome address delivered by Prof. Dr. Md. Nazmul Islam, Honourable Principal,North East Medical College.

The session was presented by Prof. Dr. Hamida Khatun, Head, Department of Anatomy, North East Medical College.
Prof. Dr. Alamgir Adil Samdany, Chairman, Medical Education Unit, North East Medical College, was present as a respected guest, along with all esteemed anatomists from Sylhet Medical University.

The seminar focused on the concept of Integrated Teaching within the MBBS Phase-1 Curriculum, creating an excellent platform for constructive academic dialogue, collaboration, and advancement in anatomical education. On 23rd November 2025 Department of Forensic Medicine & Toxicology of North East Medical College hosted Regional Academic Coordination meeting attended by Forensic Experts from various medical colleges of Sylhet division.

The session began with an inaugural address by Prof. Dr. Shahriar Hussain Chowdhury, Chairman, Governing Body of North East Medical College, followed by a warm welcome speech from Prof. Dr. Md. Nazmul Islam, Principal, North East Medial College. The session was also graced by the valuable speech by Prof. Dr. Alamgir Adil Samdany, Chairman, Medical Education Unit, North East Medical College.

The meeting was chaired by Prof. Dr. Mohammad Shamsul Alam, Head of the Department of Forensic Medicine & Toxicology, NEMC. Discussion was held on various evaluation & assessment tools in medical education, as per the updated operational manual & curriculum. A detailed presentation on curriculum was conducted by Dr. Md. Shah Alam, Associate Professor of Forensic Medicine, NEMC, highlighting implementation of updates of curriculum on the aspect of student evaluation & teaching activities.

The session was hosted by Senior Lecturer of Forensic Medicine, NEMC, Dr. Chowdhury Mohammad Tawhid Tasneef. The meeting was graced by the presence of the Heads of Forensic Medicine & Toxicology Departments of different Medical College of Sylhet Division: Associate Professor Dr. Md. Shamsul Islam (SOMC), Associate Professor Dr. Kanta Deb (SWMC), Associate Professor Dr. Mustak Ahmed Ruhel (JRRMC) & Associate Professor Dr. Rokibul Hasan (PMC).
