• You should stretch before a run — Long static stretches can reduce power. Warm up with movement instead.
• You need to run fast to improve — Most endurance gains come from easy, aerobic miles.
• If it hurts, it’s working — Muscle fatigue is normal. Sharp or lingering pain isn’t.
• Rest days make you lose fitness — Recovery is when your body actually adapts and gets stronger.
• You only need to hydrate on long runs — Even short or indoor runs can drain fluids and minerals, ultimately affecting performance and recovery.
