A major milestone for Yarrow: the first packaging prototypes of the Yarrow woundbrush are here and at the same time, the first units are officially rolling off the production line.
Seeing the final packaging take shape and holding the first production pieces in our hands makes this journey incredibly tangible. What started as sketches, concepts, and early prototypes has now evolved into an (almost) market-ready product.

Behind every detail, from the silicone brush to the packaging design, lies months of testing, refining, and collaboration.

We’re starting 2026 exactly how we ended last year: with full focus on production and final preparations for the US market launch of the Yarrow Wound Brush.

What started just two years ago as an early prototype has now entered full production and is rapidly approaching market readiness.
Behind the scenes, our teams and partners are working intensively to finalise manufacturing, logistics, and launch preparations, bringing us closer than ever to introducing the Yarrow Wound Brush to clinicians in the United States.

Take a look at the photo to see all the prototypes and the evolution of the Yarrow Wound Brush, from first concept to production-ready device.

A new milestone for the Yarrow Wound Brush.

We received and tested the first-out-of-tool silicone brush samples, the very first pieces produced with our final moulds. The results look very promising, and we’ve already implemented the final refinements to move one step closer to full-scale production.

Yarrow at MEDICA 2025: innovation that sparks interest

What an incredible two days in Düsseldorf at MEDICA 2025, one of the world’s leading trade fairs for medical technology.
We had the opportunity to connect with many distributors, partners, and healthcare professionals from across the globe and the interest in the Yarrow Wound Brush was overwhelming.

Our mission to make wound cleansing more effective clearly resonates internationally, and we’re thrilled to see the excitement it’s generating.

Thank you to everyone who visited our stand, asked questions, and shared their insights. Each conversation brings us one step closer to launching the Yarrow Wound Brush across Europe and beyond.

We’re proud to announce: Yarrow Wound Brush wins first prize at the Up & Away internationalisation programme! 🏆

After months of inspiring sessions, personal coaching, and knowledge sharing, we wrapped up the Up & Away internationalisation course and we’re honoured to have been awarded first place.

The Up & Away programme, powered by Provincie Oost-Vlaanderen, Provincie Vlaams-Brabant, POM Antwerpen, and Provincie Antwerpen, and organised by BIOVIA, supports healthtech and life sciences startups in their journey toward international growth.

Throughout the programme, we worked on our market strategy, regulatory roadmap, funding approach, and investor readiness, supported by experts and mentors from across the ecosystem.

A huge thank you to all the incredible speakers and contributors who guided us along the way:
Andrew Herweg, Luc Segers, Flen Health, Bingli, Hippo NDX, Sarah Boone, Evan Chuck, Vincent Keereman (Xeos), Ludovic Ampe (Neuroventis), Henk Joos, Els Verhulst (FIT), Relu, and PDC Line Pharma.

And to the organisers who made this trajectory possible:
Katrin Bouwens (Vlaams-Brabant), Sara Landuydt (Antwerpen), Céline Van den Abeele (Oost-Vlaanderen), Liz Renzaglia, Luc Kindt, Roel Smolders, and the Innovatiehub Vlaams-Brabant.

Winning first prize is a major recognition for the work we’ve done and a powerful motivator as we take the next step: executing our internationalisation strategy and launching the Yarrow Wound Brush in the US in Q1 2026.

Finally, a heartfelt thank you to all the partners who make Yarrow’s journey possible:
Care Support, Stad Antwerpen, Ching Foe, VLAIO, Joeri Staessen, FIT (Siegfried Verheijcke), Superellips, Pitchlaw, Alleva, and Extricare. This first place belongs to our entire network, thank you for believing in our mission to innovate wound care.

During recent testing, we used the REVEAL™ fluorescence imaging system by for Vision Inc., a cutting-edge device that visualises bacterial presence on wounds in real time.

Before using the Yarrow Wound Brush, the REVEAL™ glasses clearly showed high bacterial activity on the wound surface.
After using the Yarrow Wound Brush, those signals were dramatically reduced, demonstrating how effectively our brush removes bacteria, debris, and wound slough, creating the clean conditions needed for optimal healing.

Due to LinkedIn regulations, we’re unable to share clinical wound images publicly.
If you’d like to see the before-and-after visuals that demonstrate how effectively the Yarrow Wound Brush cleans wounds, feel free to send us a direct message, we’ll be happy to share them privately.

This reinforces what we believe at Yarrow: you have to clean before you treat.

What started as an idea, turned into a prototype, and is now becoming reality.
This week, the very first Yarrow Wound Brushes officially rolled off the production line, a major step towards bringing our innovation into the hands of healthcare professionals.

Next up: final checks, packaging, and preparing for launch.

Clean before you treat.
It’s more than our motto. It’s our mission.

Chronic wounds continue to place a heavy burden on patients and healthcare systems. Yet one of the most overlooked steps in wound care remains effective wound cleansing.

Too often, wounds are treated before they’re properly cleaned. Residual exudate, debris, and surface contaminants interfere with healing, reduce the effectiveness of topical therapies, and slow recovery.

Clinical experts agree: consistent and thorough cleansing is essential to create the right conditions for wound healing. Simple irrigation isn’t always enough, more effective cleansing methods are needed to achieve a truly clean wound bed.

This belief drives everything we do. With the Yarrow Wound Brush, we’re working to make wound cleansing easier, more effective, and more consistent, because every successful treatment starts with a clean foundation.

Another milestone: Yarrow Wound Brush usability studies have started

We’ve officially started our usability studies, a key step in bringing the Yarrow Wound Brush closer to real-world application.

The goal of these studies is to have the device tested by a diverse group of healthcare professionals: nurses with different specialisations, doctors, and general practitioners. Their feedback will help us assess ease of use, ergonomics, and overall functionality in daily practice.

These insights are essential to refine the design, ensure clinical relevance, and move toward certification and validation. Every test brings us one step closer to delivering an innovation that truly supports those who provide wound care every day.
