Dr. Casaer is erkend plastisch chirurg en sinds 2019 diensthoofd Plastische, Reconstructieve en Esthetische Heelkunde in AZ Sint-Jan Brugge.

Hij focust op esthetische chirurgie van gelaat en lichaam, dermatochirurgie en microchirurgische borstreconstructies met bijzondere expertise in borstchirurgie, neus- en ooglidcorrecties en deep-plane facelifts. Als een van de eerste plastisch chirurgen in België paste hij de deep-plane facelift toe - een techniek die niet enkel de huid, maar ook de diepere weefsellagen lift voor een duurzaam en natuurlijk resultaat. In borstchirurgie neemt hij een voortrekkersrol op, onder meer met de preservé-techniek: een innovatieve, spierbesparende methode met minimale insnede en sneller herstel.

Zijn opleiding liep van KU Leuven over AZ Delta en AZ Sint-Jan Brugge tot een stage in het Northern General Hospital (Sheffield) en verdere specialisatie aan UZ Gent.

Dr. Casaer is a board-certified plastic surgeon and Head of Plastic, Reconstructive & Aesthetic Surgery at AZ Sint-Jan Bruges since 2019.

His expertise includes facial and body aesthetics, dermatologic surgery, and microsurgical breast reconstruction with particular focus on breast surgery, rhinoplasty, eyelid surgery and deep-plane facelifts. As one of the first surgeons in Belgium to apply the deep-plane facelift, he uses this refined technique to lift deeper tissue layers for natural, long-lasting results. In breast surgery, he takes a leading role with the préservé technique - an innovative, minimal-incision, muscle-sparing approach promoting faster recovery.

He trained at KU Leuven, AZ Delta, AZ Sint-Jan Bruges, Northern General Hospital (Sheffield) and UZ Gent.
