Six weeks postpartum, and my body, nervous system, and immune system are clearly telling me I need more rest and more self-care.
I have had a cold for the past week, and I really notice it in my patience — it’s so much thinner than usual!
Sometimes I find myself torn between playing with the kids and just catching a moment to rest. I keep realizing that when I’m exhausted, I can’t truly be present for them. This is exactly why rest and self-care are so essential.
Self-care doesn’t have to be big or perfect. Especially now, during postpartum, when time and energy are limited, even 5 minutes matters: a gentle stretch, a warm shower, a quiet breath, or a tiny creative moment. It’s about showing up for yourself, even in the smallest ways.
💛 This inspired me to create the Postpartum Advent Calendar — daily practices that are short, gentle, and nurturing: mini movement, creative prompts, coaching reflections, and mindful pauses.
Will you join me for a daily 5‑minute self‑care journey?
💫 Self-Care Sankalpa:
Today, I invite you to set an intention — a small, loving promise to yourself this advent season. Some ideas:
“I honor my body and mind each day.”
“I allow myself 5 minutes of peace, every day.”
“I am enough, exactly as I am.”
“I do good work and notice it — I allow myself to rest and recharge.”
✨ Here’s how to get your calendar:
1️⃣ Comment below with your self-care sankalpa
2️⃣ DM me your email, so that I can send the calendar directly to your inbox.
Remember: self-care is not selfish — it’s the foundation that allows you to show up fully for your life, your family, and yourself.
Let’s do this together — whether you’re postpartum, not postpartum, expecting, or simply craving a gentle, intentional December.
And if you know a mama who could use this, share it with her. We rise together. 🤍
❤️
