We had the last Constellation Circle of 2025 over the weekend in Brussels.

We saw Many examples of family systems and how complex they are, especially when adoptions and adopted parents are Added to the already complex system of a family.

A major takeaway was to make it simple when you can, to turn from complexity and look to what is simple by listening to the heart. ❤️

It’s been a deep And moving year in Brussels. Much gratitude for the unity and love for humans you all bring in these circles. We need it now more than ever!

Being a helper often starts with “wanting to fix the world or others” and it replicates later by “wanting to fix the world or others.” These early experiences are an initiation in many ways but one that is mixed up with the ways we have learned to be loved and belong.

*I’ll be loved if I hold your pain.
*I’ll be loved if I keep my mouth shut and don’t contribute to the drama.
*I’ll be loved if I don’t express how I really feel and instead prioritize how you feel.
*If I love hard enough, maybe you'll change so we can be happy.

These are a few ways we learn to be a helper young, but it’s mixed up... causing us to swallow our feelings and develop ways of “helping whoever” before helping ourselves, because these statements include ways of abandoning the self in an effort to be loved.

Learning to be a helper is a life’s work really, and it’s wonderful that there is an emergence of people wanting to go into helping professions, yet these same issues and many more above are all mixed in.

For Constellation facilitators interested in learning more about how to be an effective helper, Bert Hellinger left us the Orders of Helping.

The next group supervision will be Thursday, January 15th from 6 to 10 pm CEST. See the details here, as the subject for teaching will be the Orders of Helping, a guide for how to help and how to not help too much (where it’s potentially bad or ineffective for both you and the one you’re helping.)

This weekend was Constellation weekend, both online and in Brussels. Several themes repeated as they often do: the will to live & feel more alive, clearing old relationship patterns, discovering loyalties to one side of the lineage over the other, the true capacity of the heart to overcome & love deeper than before, & the importance & place of our first love.

Each person started the day by choosing a Constellation card as we opened the Circle. Sometimes the message of the card is clear from the first instance, & other times it becomes clear as the day goes on. I chose a card myself, “grief.” I thought I knew what it was about at first, but in my case, it became clear after the Circle.

Three out of 5 constellations yesterday included a first love & the influence & impact it had on their lives, either personally or a parent’s first love that we can be unconsciously connected to. When I got home & reflected on the day, my card connected with the theme of the day, and I remembered the grief of my first love. He was in a tragic car wreck days after I moved away to college leaving all of us involved forever changed. This was almost 30 years ago but the depth of the experience changed me, deepened me & still shows up sometimes, like yesterday...

The Knowing Field we call it in Constellation work is really life itself, & the time we experience in Constellations is usually more circular (cyclical) than linear. Sometimes we will get insights from our early years of life (even pre-verbal experiences), or from our teen years, or recent years.

Time is relative really but the imprints of first loves can last a lifetime. ❤️❤️‍🩹

In working so closely to trauma with clients - both in psychotherapy & in Family Constellations, I have witnessed over and over again how healed trauma becomes resilience and can become your gift. Healed trauma gives us space to face life’s challenges where we weren’t able to before, and healed trauma leads to wisdom, which we can used to be in service of others.

And in times like now, times of great challenge and uncertainty, our trauma stories will be at play, either to help guide us with new perspectives, or to lead us down the road of repetition.

In a world booming with spiritual practices and wellness programs, there can be a rush to move past the trauma. I hear things like “Oh, not this again,” for example. If this is happening to you... again, it’s your unhealed pain speaking and trying to get through to be seen, to be loved, or to be held like it wasn’t before. The more you bypass it and want to move on before it’s healed enough, the more likely it will come back.

Unhealed trauma is the limitation.

No, we don’t have to be perfect or fully healed to move forward. We have to be able to hold the pain when it comes, to notice it and tend to it. Some pain is and was that deep, so it needs to be met with love and attention.

This is how things can change. And when you’re able to do that, then this is the time when spirituality can support you to go to a new level of awakening.

I often tell clients that a rocket (you!) doesn’t launch from the air, but from the ground, being your reality and your life as it’s happened... because then you can open new doors with confidence and resilience!

We had a great day exploring the polarity of chaos and order, something we are all familiar with at certain moments of life & at times now for the collective.

Chaos has a relation to creativity, and where there’s chaos, there’s a hidden order to be found. If we learn to work with it, to see it with new eyes, to create something new from it, we can not only survive trouble, but learn to thrive and birth something new from it.

Too much order - ridgid & controlling
Too much chaos - scattered & stressed, more easily controlled

*The middle way, bringing the virtues of both = presence, a place of creativity, & putting steps in place to what you’d like to create. And the work between chaos & order pushes us to adapt, to gain new perspectives, to surrender & to trust the way. All of this relates to an evolutionary force behind it all.

If you are on a path of healing, if you’re trying to understand your life & your feelings, or if life has happened & you must learn now, you are being guided by an evolutionary force, the path of consciousness. Seeing that can help the process.

Some takeaways from today: the importance of finding the middle point between the two, grounding in transitions, the heart as the navigator, we can give ourselves the unconditional love we long for, the evolutionary force was loving & grounded, the relief that you don’t have to
Know the way, because the way knows the way.

From Chaos to Order: a Systemic Ritual Workshop

It’s that time of the year again! Level 1: Meet the Wheel & the Four Directions, starting Nov 13th.

The Wheel of the Four Directions is a variation of the traditional medicine wheel that has been used for centuries by many cultures around the world. Working with a medicine wheel expands your perception & connects you to the Spirits and wisdom from each direction, something fundamental to any shamanic practice.

Course Objectives: During this five-part course, you will:
*learn the principles of each direction and your relation to each one
*learn and practice supporting principles to ritual, including prayer, intention, building an altar and how to open and close the directions
*learn and experience a variety of rituals with the Wheel for you and for groups, giving you a toolbox of rituals to use
*understand and apply the workings of the Wheel, including how the directions are connected and how to move around the circle/Wheel to benefit your intention during rituals
*have your own encounter with Spirit and with your support team (Spirit guides/Support team)

I’m on The way to Mexico! 🇲🇽 The ISCA conference, an international Constellation gathering is next week and I’ll present a Systemic Ritual workshop on a subject we are confronted with regularly, Community (being with others) vs. Separation (being alone). These dynamics have been pronounced since COVID with matters of loneliness incrementing globally yet the changing paradigm of community focus and need, symbolic of the Aquariam Age.
