Psychotherapy at Schuman

Psychotherapy at Schuman Experienced in individual and group psychotherapy, working in English and Hungarian.

I am an individual and group psychotherapist in Brussels, creating reflective spaces where difficulties can be understood, patterns transformed, and different ways of living discovered. “Nobody can be somebody alone.”

I am a Belgian-Hungarian state-recognised individual and group psychotherapist based in Brussels since 2010 (VAT-exempt under Article 44 of the Belgian VAT Code). Currently a Group Analyst in Training with the Institute of Group Analysis (IGA), United Kingdom.

Due to the Hungarian group analytic colleagues’ kindness and curiosity, I was asked to write an article about my years as the GASi forum administrator. It is written in Hungarian but can be easily translated into English with DeepL or Google Translate. Thank you for the chance to write it.

Dear all, I am doing a research on something and as a side line, I was struck by the statistics I found about adolescents' well being. It seems to stand out amongst other numbers, in a bad way:( So, I made some research about what can be key points for us, parents to help our kids to cope, especially in the long run, and I thought to share it here. It is based on research and I included the links where I could. I am one of all those mothers who struggle, so I tried to keep it realistic. If it helps just one kid get better, or not get worse, it was worth it:

Dear Colleagues,

One particular beauty I enjoy most in being trained in group psychotherapy is that it gives me the chance to be connected to colleagues worldwide who are highly sensitive of their own impact, and who are ready to reach out to colleagues and others in needs quite quickly.

Both at the International Group Analytic Society (GASi), of which I am a member, and at the International Association for Group Psychotherapy and Group Processes (IAGP), there are members who have excessive experience in the field of conducting online therapy, even with groups, especially under unusual or threatening conditions. At both organizations experienced colleagues offer free webinars about how to make the change from personal psychotherapy sessions towards online ones, which might be the only way of assuring continuity at these unusual times, for an uncertain period of time. I assume many of us will agree that especially when disturbance is high, it is most important to do our best to keep the sessions at their time and place, as much as possible, to provide at least one bit of sense of security to hold on to.

I will participate in both webinars, and I would be happy to share what I can of it with my local colleagues in Brussels and Belgium. To be fair, in my previous career my job was working on putting our entire country online at the Prime Ministers Office in Hungary, and I have written books and articles about electronic services for 18 years, so I myself am no newbie in the field. The language will need to be English.

It will be held on Zoom and my account allows up to 30 participants at a time, so the first 30 people will be able to come. Here is the link for the registration:

Best wishes and good health to all,

"We are like the pieces of a puzzle that are given a shape in our childhood family: not according to what we would need, but according to what is possible in the family. And when we move on, we tend to connect with people who have a fitting piece to our piece, and we recreate similar dynamics together." (from a book in preparation)
