Dear Colleagues,
One particular beauty I enjoy most in being trained in group psychotherapy is that it gives me the chance to be connected to colleagues worldwide who are highly sensitive of their own impact, and who are ready to reach out to colleagues and others in needs quite quickly.
Both at the International Group Analytic Society (GASi), of which I am a member, and at the International Association for Group Psychotherapy and Group Processes (IAGP), there are members who have excessive experience in the field of conducting online therapy, even with groups, especially under unusual or threatening conditions. At both organizations experienced colleagues offer free webinars about how to make the change from personal psychotherapy sessions towards online ones, which might be the only way of assuring continuity at these unusual times, for an uncertain period of time. I assume many of us will agree that especially when disturbance is high, it is most important to do our best to keep the sessions at their time and place, as much as possible, to provide at least one bit of sense of security to hold on to.
I will participate in both webinars, and I would be happy to share what I can of it with my local colleagues in Brussels and Belgium. To be fair, in my previous career my job was working on putting our entire country online at the Prime Ministers Office in Hungary, and I have written books and articles about electronic services for 18 years, so I myself am no newbie in the field. The language will need to be English.
It will be held on Zoom and my account allows up to 30 participants at a time, so the first 30 people will be able to come. Here is the link for the registration:
