About Francesco Brucchi,

Dr. Francesco Brucchi is a general surgery resident at the University of Milan and currently works at IRCCS Istituto Auxologico Italiano, where he focuses mainly on abdominal wall surgery. His main interests include minimally invasive and robotic techniques for hernia repair. He is actively involved in research and several international collaborative projects on training and outcome evaluation in hernia surgery, working closely with European reference centers.

About Oroog Ali,

Miss Oroog Ali is a Consultant Robotic Colorectal and General Surgeon at Gateshead NHS Foundation Trust, UK. She is one of the UK’s only female robotic proctors with a dedicated robotic practice in colorectal and hernia surgery. She holds national roles within ACPGBI, RCSEd, and BHS. She has led the implementation of the first robotic programme at her hospital, delivering procedures in colorectal pathologies and hernias with a focus on precision, surgical innovation, and patient-centred outcomes.
