- Closure of our center -
This is not an easy message to write. After exactly 7 years of holding space for retreats, community, silence, music, and transformation, we have come to the difficult decision that, due to a combination of organizational and financial reasons, we will soon have to close our retreat center. We had been facing organizational and financial issues for a while and aimed to improve the project through renovations within the building. However, the cost of this turned out to be much higher than expected. By now we think we can say that we tried every possible way to continue the center, however it doesn't seem to be possible.
This place has been built with great care, love, and dedication. It always was an association (vzw) and its work has been largely carried voluntarily by people that felt the need to contribute something truly meaningful. Over the years, it has welcomed many people and supported deep processes of rest, healing, learning, and connection. We are deeply grateful for everyone who has been part of this journey — as participants, teachers, volunteers, and supporters.
As we bring this chapter to a close, we are facing a financial shortfall related to the final costs of the center. Our final closing will be on May 1st. As we want to close in grace, we still have a final program next month! You are most welcome to join us on this mantra night or this last Akasha Retreat! And if you can't make it, we wish that Akasha still reverberates within your heart. Our work will continue, however, through which form is not known yet. We might send you an update on this later on.
