The origins of TWD Support
A time ago I came into contact with a person with a disability. This person who is wheelchair bound, was traveling with his family and had booked his trip in company X, with the explicit request that adapted transport (wheelchair) was required from the home address to the airport, but also the area of the airport to the hotel. According to the travel agency that was all no problem. It was in order! My friend, whom I can call friend meanwhile, confidently home. Two weeks before the actual departure, yet once again ask whether effective or everything is in order. To the question: Transport is surely wheelchair accessible? Get them to suddenly hear ... Oops! Rolstoelvervoer? No there is only just transportation provided. My knowledge of course in all states, he saw his holidays are already in the water. Coincidentally by friends (including me) he still has adapted transport found both in Belgium and abroad.
Meanwhile, we live in the 21st century, an era of revolutionary inventions such as the electric car, but still a step towards a foreign trip for people with mobilieteitsprobleem is a difficult aspect. If my knowledge has this problem, I thought, there will still be others who are just recognize same problem. Hence the emergence of TWD-Support.
TWD Support is of the opinion that people with a mobility problem may also still enjoying life and traveling should be able to without all the burdens and problems. TWD Support is there to fulfill that dream of a carefree holiday.

Het ontstaan van TWD Support
Een tijd terug kwam ik in contact met een persoon met een beperking. Deze persoon die rolstoelgebonden is, ging op reis met zijn familie en had zijn reis geboekt bij maatschappij X, met de uitdrukkelijke vraag dat er aangepast vervoer (rolstoel) nodig was van het thuisadres tot in de luchthaven, maar ook ter plaatse van de luchthaven naar het hotel. Volgens het reisbureau was dat allemaal geen probleem. Het kwam in orde ! Mijn kennis, die ik ondertussen vriend kan noemen, met een gerust hart naar huis. 2 weken voor het eigenlijke vertrek, toch nog maar eens navragen of effectief wel alles in orde is. Bij de vraag : Het vervoer is toch zeker rolstoeltoegankelijk? Krijgen ze plots te horen… Oei ? Rolstoelvervoer ? Nee er is enkel gewoon vervoer voorzien. Mijn kennis natuurlijk in alle staten, hij zag zijn vakantie al in het water vallen. Toevallig door kennissen (waaronder ik) heeft hij toch aangepast vervoer gevonden zowel in Belgie als in het buitenland.
We leven ondertussen in de 21ste eeuw, een tijdperk met revolutionaire uitvindingen, zoals de elektrische auto, maar nog steeds is de stap naar een buitenlandse reis voor personen met een mobilieteitsprobleem een moeilijk aspect. Als mijn kennis dat probleem heeft, dacht ik, zullen er nog wel andere zijn die net hetzelfde probleem herkennen. Vandaar het ontstaan van TWD-Support.
TWD-Support is van mening dat personen met een mobiliteitsprobleem toch ook mogen genieten van het leven en reizen moeten kunnen maken zonder alle lasten en problemen. TWD-Support is er om die droom van een zorgeloze vakantie waar te maken.
