Wij, Celine en Jolien, ontmoetten elkaar in 2017, allebei als yogadocent in dezelfde studio. Wat begon als vriendelijke begroetingen, groeide al snel uit tot een gedeelde kijk op yoga, het lichaam en bewustzijn.

Een paar maanden later ging Jolien last-minute mee op een yogaretreat in de Marokkaanse woestijn die Celine begeleidde. Tussen eindeloos zand, hete dagen en ijskoude nachten ontstond een diepe vriendschap en een gedeelde visie: yoga gaat niet om perfecte houdingen, maar om aanwezig (te) zijn bij wat er werkelijk leeft.
Jarenlang volgden we (samen en apart) opleidingen en verdiepten we ons in yoga voor mentale gezondheid, de mind-body connectie en holistisch welzijn. In 2022 kruisten onze paden opnieuw, ditmaal als collega’s in een gespecialiseerd team rond complex trauma binnen een psychotherapeutisch dagcentrum. Samen leerden we hoe we ook mensen met een rugzak kunnen begeleiden naar meer innerlijke rust en het woordeloze weten van het lichaam.

Vandaag kiezen we ervoor om opnieuw de handen in elkaar te slaan op een nieuwe manier! Heel binnenkort kondigen we met veel enthousiasme iets aan waarvan we geloven dat de yogawereld het nodig heeft! Stay tuned :)

I’m taking some time to slow down in between our weddings. Yes, we have two of them! Most of Maziar’s family lives in Iran, and getting them a visa to enter Europe is very hard. So we decided to do a wedding in our backyard in Belgium for all our Belgian friends and family and an intimate family holiday/Persian wedding celebration in Turkey with Maziar’s and my family of origin.

Planning and celebrating two weddings is crazy fun but also takes a lot of energy. I’m allowing myself to slow down regarding the Holistic Healing House to be fully present in my personal life during these magical wedding months. I will be teaching one restorative and sound healing class this month, though! Link in bio to join me for some deep rest.

I spent the last two weeks soaking up the sun and the sea in Paros. During the first week, I joined for a deeply nourishing retreat. It served as a beautiful reminder that all I need to feel deeply alive, free and joyful is nature and embodied presence (though good food also helps ;)). It was such a gift to be able to spend 5 hours a day exploring what is alive in my body and moving just for the sake of moving. Allowing my body to lead the way, and so it melts away any blockages, stress and tension. It’s only by softening into a relaxed presence at the retreat that I realised how stressed I was before. It turns out that opening a new business while planning two weddings is a bit much :) Now I’m back home with refreshed energy, gratitude for the sunshine here and determination to continue returning to embodied presence again and again and again. There is no better antidote to stress than being right here, right now. Join me in August for a few events at the .healing.house.be. They will give you ample time and space into drop in your body.

I always like to end a year by looking back and releasing what is no longer serving me. This year I'm taking my sweet time for that process. Whenever I feel ready, I will look inwardly to set my intentions for the year that has just started. To me, it's essential that my intentions come from a loving place, inviting in what is for the highest good. I look at what I want to manifest in different areas of my life and then consciously choose one word to accompany me as I embark on the adventure that is the new year. My word for 2022 was yielding, and I sense that my word for 2023 might be surrender.

Did you pick your word yet? If not, you're welcome to contemplate your intentions for the new year during next week's restorative class. As always, we'll finish with a sound bath using crystal singing bowls. One of the fantastic qualities of crystal bowls is that they amplify intention.
