I introduced the Orthodontic-Assisted One-Step No-Prep technique as a novel, minimally invasive approach for the treatment of localized tooth wear.

Multidisciplinary esthetic treatment of upper anterior teeth (from #12 to #22) in 52-year-old patient with agenesis of #12.
After orthodontic treatment with a distalisation of #13, placement of implant of #12, buccal veneers EmaxPress (pressed lithium disilicate) were realized.

➡️ Step 1: Alignment, distalization of #13 and mesialization of #37 #47 with a self-ligating bimaxillary fixed appliance (Damon).
➡️ Step 2: Esthetic & Implant planning analysis
➡️ Step 3: Placement of implant in #12 (Nobel CC NP) with soft tissue graft
➡️ Step 4: After bleaching, bonding of buccal veneers (pressed lithium disilicate) using Variolink Esthetic (Ivoclar) in #11, # 21 and #22. A buccal veneer in EmaxPress was bonded in zirconia abutment in #12.

Traitement esthétique pluridisciplinaire des dents antérieures supérieures (de la dent n° 12 à la dent n° 22) chez une patiente de 52 ans présentant une agénésie de la dent n° 12.
Après un traitement orthodontique avec distalisation de la dent n° 13, pose d’un implant au niveau de la dent n° 12, des facettes vestibulaires en EmaxPress (disilicate de lithium pressé) ont été réalisées.

➡️ Étape 1 : Alignement, distalisation de la dent n° 13 et mésialisation des dents n° 37 et n° 47 à l’aide d’un appareil fixe bimaxillaire auto-ligaturant (Damon).
➡️ Étape 2 : Analyse esthétique et planification implantaire.
➡️ Étape 3 : Pose d’un implant au niveau de la dent n° 12 (Nobel CC NP) avec greffe de tissu conjonctif.
➡️ Étape 4 : Après un blanchiment externe, collage de facettes buccales (disilicate de lithium pressé) à l’aide de Variolink Esthetic (Ivoclar) sur les dents n° 11, n° 21 et n° 22. Une facette vestibulaire en EmaxPress a été collée sur un pilier en zircone au niveau de la dent n° 12.

➡️The One-Step No-Prep technique exhibits successful long-term outcomes
➡️PICN (hybrid ceramic) is an appropriate material for this non-invasive treatment of tooth wear
➡️Survival rate at 9 years was 98.4% (100% for anterior and 96.7% for posterior) and success rate was 79.7%, while the success rate excluding minor chipping requiring only polishing as failure was 86.7%.
➡️The most common failure is minor chipping of the restoration in PICN
➡️The minimum thickness of posterior restorations should be 0.56 mm, particularly at occlusal contact points

➡️Le matériau PICN (céramique hybride) est un matériau approprié pour ce traitement non invasif de l’usure dentaire
➡️Taux de survie à 9 ans était de 98,4 % (100 % pour les antérieures et 96,7 % pour les postérieures) et taux de réussite était de 79,7 %, celui excluant les fractures mineures ne nécessitant qu’un polissage comme échec était de 86,7 %.

➡️LTD developed in vivo on the surfaces of 3Y-TZP dental prostheses and progressed slowly but significantly over time, up to 5 years investigation.
➡️The prosthesis fracture rate was 4.5% after 5 years.
➡️The effects of aging on the failure rate recorded and of zirconia nanoparticles released into the body require further investigation.

“Non-invasive and Straightforward Treatment of Localized Tooth Wear with Hybrid Ceramic (PICN): The Orthodontic-Assisted One-Step No-Prep Technique”

Cas d’usure sévère localisée antérieure + usure sommets des cuspides postérieures due au bruxisme.

➡️13 à 23 : Facettes palatines no-prep en Vita Enamic (céramique hybride) avec recouvrement vestibulaire partiel, dont le joint est poli à rien après collage (Vita Enamic polishing kit)
➡️42 à 32 : chips no-prep en Vita Enamic
➡️ Sommets des cuspides postérieures: composite directs par moulage
➡️ Collage de toutes les restaurations et composites directs réalisés en 24h
➡️Fermeture de la béance postérieure créée en 3 mois via une extrusion orthodontique (boutons métalliques+ élastiques)
💥 On restaure juste les tissus manquants et on ne prépare pas la dent : simple et efficace !

Case of severe anterior tooth wear + wear of posterior cusp tips due to bruxism.

➡️13 to 23: No-prep palatal veneers in Vita Enamic (hybrid ceramic) with partial buccal overlap, the joint of which is polished to nothing after bonding (Vita Enamic polishing kit)
➡️42 to 32: no-prep chips in Vita Enamic
➡️ Posterior cusp tips: molded direct composite
➡️ Bonding of all restorations and direct composites completed within 24 hours
➡️Closure of the created posterior open bite in 3 months using simple orthodontic extrusion (metal buttons + elastics)
💥 We just restore the missing tissue and don’t prepare the tooth: simple and effective !
