❗️Fantastic news for our lab!❗️
Particularly proud to receive the award from the prestigious Worldwide cancer research association to uncover new therapeutic targets in melanoma.

Thanks to our amazing lab team for their work & dedication!

Dr Pierre Close and his team are studying how melanoma tumours resist treatment. Unravelling how melanoma cells control the way proteins are made inside the cell could reveal new ways to treat the disease.

Very happy that our lab is taking an active part in the European project TRANSLACORE. Great network with great scientists and great perspectives.

Check out our last paper, which was just featured by the Nat. Comm. Editor. Wobble tRNA modification and proteome maintenance!!

Wobble uridine (U34) tRNA modifications are important for the decoding of AA-ending codons. Here the authors show that while the U34-codon content of mRNAs are predictive of changes in ribosome translation elongation, the resulting outcome in protein expression also relies on specific hydrophil...

Laboratory of Cancer Signaling

Our lab aims to better understand the molecular mechanisms underlying cancer development and resistance to therapy. We wish to define innovative therapeutic opportunities for future cancer treatment.

In particular, we believe that selective, codon-specific, mRNA translation may drive tumor cells adaptation and may represent a new vulnerability of cancer cells. Therefore, using a combination of mouse models and patients derived material, we study the role of tRNA biology and specific codon decoding in the reprogramming of mRNA translation taking place during cancer development and therapy resistance.
