Caeleste (°2006) is a design house for turn-key, high-end, high performance, image sensors. The unique company IP enables hybrid or mixed arrangements that rival monolitic solutions in terms of noise immunity and S/N; ultra low noise readout in the presence of large amounts of fast switching digital logic in the pixel; high fill factor in monolithic CMOS sensors; time gating pixels. IP for arrays of X-ray photon counters with high yield, enabling unprecendented performance in noise floor, energy discrimination and MTF. The team consists of experienced designers, imaging scientists and technology experts who have built their expertise at FillFactory, Cypress Semiconductor, IMEC, CEA-LETI, ULIS, Texas Instruments, in designing many advanced and first-off image sensors. We focus on application domains as Medical and Space imaging, as well as on the advanced niches in Automotive, Factory automation, Biometrics, Scientific imaging, Spectroscopy.

Caeleste is an innovative & dynamic company, offering full turnkey image sensor solutions to instrument integrators. We are specialized in the design & production of high-end, beyond-state-of-the-art custom CMOS image sensors. We also develop novel sensors for high energetic particles detection, X-rays, UV and NIR light.

Sensors customization offers a high added value thanks to the creation of a unique innovative product granting our customers a competitive advantage. Our innovation leaded to the authorship of a variety of novel cutting edge image sensor concepts and patents such as a scintillator-based X-ray detection sensor with photon-counting capability, and an image sensor with sub-electron read noise (0.21 electron noise) and high dynamic range (≥ 100 000:1).
