💡Supercompensatie: glycogeen & mitochondria – de sleutel tot topprestaties!

✅ Meer glycogeen = snelle energie
✅ Meer mitochondriën = duurzaam uithoudingsvermogen
➡ Samen zorgen ze voor sneller herstel en toppresentaties.

Na een zware inspanning kan het lichaam niet alleen herstellen, maar tijdelijk extra capaciteit opbouwen = supercompensatie. We onderscheiden twee vormen die samen het verschil maken.

1️⃣ Glycogeensupercompensatie (na inspanning)

• Normale glycogeenvoorraad: ±80%
• Met supercompensatie: tot ±150%*
📌 Het glycogeenvenster staat binnen 6 uur na inspanning het meest open.

🔧 Mechanisme (kort)

• Insulinegevoeligheid ↑
• GLUT4-transporters ↑ → snellere glucose-opname
• Glycogeen synthase ↑ → versnelde glycogeenopbouw

➡ Daardoor wordt glycogeen niet alleen aangevuld, maar overmatig opgeslagen (±150%). Dit effect blijft dan enkele dagen aanwezig.

2️⃣ Mitochondriale supercompensatie (na herstel)

• Normale mitochondriale capaciteit: 100%
• Met supercompensatie: tot ±130%
📌 Treedt op uren tot dagen later, vooral bij goed herstel (zonder suikers)

** “Omvang varieert met marker, trainingsprotocol en tijdschaal; literatuur rapporteert gemiddeld +20–30%, soms groter bij langere interventies. Functionele capaciteit daalt sneller dan structurele markers; onderhoud vergt herhaaldelijke prikkels = (training of vluchten).”

🔧 Mechanisme (kort)

• Energiecrisis → activatie AMPK & PGC‑1α
• Biogenese: transcriptie van mitochondriale genen → eiwitsynthese → integratie in spiervezels

➡ Resultaat: meer mitochondriën en hogere oxidatieve capaciteit (vet- en ketonverbranding efficiënter).
