On 15 February, Greenyard participated in the Fuel the Runner event, organised by ProVeg International and Tessa Avermaete (Run & Harvest), which explored the link between pure-plant nutrition and athletic performance at the University of Leuven.
For us, this event was about much more than just running. It was a valuable opportunity to reinforce our mission of making lives healthier by encouraging the consumption of fruit and vegetables throughout the day. After all, strong performances, in sport and in life, start with what’s on your plate.
During the lunch break, we hosted a stand featuring Gigi, our pure-plant gelato made from fruit and vegetables. Participants had the opportunity to discover our products firsthand, connecting directly with a community that values food transparency, innovation, and evidence-based nutrition.
And let's just say... they didn't stay in the freezer for long! They sold out in no time, which is a sweet reminder that pure-plant indulgence and performance can go hand in hand.
By collaborating with experts such as Tessa Avermaete, who specialises in the intersection of agricultural economics, sport and healthy consumption, we remain closely connected to evolving dietary trends and the latest scientific insights that are shaping the future of food.
Thank you to everyone who joined us for such an energising and insightful day. It was a reminder that smart nutrition starts with the basics: eating plenty of fruit and vegetables to boost performance and protect health in the long term. Together, we continue to fuel performance the pure-plant way.
