Hi, I am Sepide. I won’t pretend that all my life I was a mover. Quite the opposite, I was already 22 years old the first time I ever ran. I had never done any sport before that age so my run lasted 3 minutes (that was my capacity back then :)). But during those 3 minutes, I felt more alive than I have ever felt. From then on, I started expanding those 3 minutes of running to hours of dancing, exercising and days and days of hiking. Therefore, any movement I pursued was first for my mind and then for my body.
Few years ago, I attended Pilates for the first time and it was a perfect combination of everything. I had to be 110% focused, my body was challenged and I could feel myself getting stronger both mentally and physically, one movement after the other. After some time, I started doing it on my own whenever I needed inner peace and very soon it became my private safe space. Experiencing all this myself, I was dreaming about sharing the same feelings with others: the sensation of empowerment, the freedom of movement, the independence of not needing anything but a mat. Therefore, I attended a training program to become a Pilates Mat instructor and here I am: excited to teach you and share with you the same empowerment.
As for my background, I come from Iran. I have lived in Italy, US, UK, and finally Belgium. Hopefully, all these country-hopping help me to be more flexible and understanding of others. I got my PhD in Mechanical Engineering at KUL in 2021 and I work full time in the same field. So, I teach Pilates for few hours a week to feel more fulfilled and recharged. In my free time (if any), I paint, I go to long hiking trips, and I reward myself with any good food I discover:)
