No matter how intense the emotion, all our emotions are temporary. Did you know that the physiological process of an emotion is 90 seconds? We tend to stay in the emotion longer because we (naturally) start to create a story around our emotional experience. As humans, we like to make sense of things. Next time you feel a trigger, try to pause, breathe, and notice the feeling in your body. The ability to pause in moments like this is a super power.
