🎶⚓ This Saturday: A Magical Evening of Music & Hope ⚓🎶

Join us for a Musical Celebration & Magic Show Fundraiser in support of a remarkable family of five from Denmark who courageously sailed the historic Viking route all the way to Bermuda.

On their journey back across the Atlantic, just 400 miles east of Bermuda, they lost their mast at sea. Though the ocean took their rig, their spirits remain unbroken — and thankfully, no one was injured. The vessel sustained no damage apart from the missing mast, but they now face the daunting challenge of continuing their voyage without it.

In true Bermudian spirit, and with deep respect for our shared maritime heritage, we are coming together to support their mission with a night of live accordion and guitar music, featuring enchanting Italian and French melodies — a rare musical experience not to be missed!

🪗🎸 An unforgettable night of rhythm, heart, and community!
🌊✨ With special magical performances to delight all ages.

📍Location: The Waterfront Hub, Somer's Wharf, St George
📅 Date & Time: Saturday May 31st at 6pm
🎟 Entry: Donation-based – every bit helps re-mast their vessel and get them safely on their onward journey.

Please come, contribute, and share the magic – your generosity will directly support this inspiring family’s next chapter at sea.

"🎶 Stepping down the Newark train station, a serendipitous melody greeted my ears – a flute played with a wisdom that resonated. The music wove tales of kind beauty, perfectly timed. Before seeing the musician, I knew they were someone special. 🎶 With no change to spare, gratitude lingered as I left the station. Beyond its doors, destiny intertwined as I met Jean. Music and life flowed in our conversation, unveiling how he's the sole musical soul allowed to grace the terminal's heart by popular demand. 🎼 Learning I hailed from Bermuda, Jean shared his Cup Match memories and love for the island. Contact info exchanged, who knows, perhaps one day we'll bring Jean's enchanting flute to Bermuda's shores. 🏝️🍃 "

Bermuda’s cultural identity is extremely diverse, in part, due to the absence of an indigenous population prior to the 17th Century. Island traditions point to the truly global nature of this little dot in the vast North Atlantic ocean.

In the early 1600’s, native people in mainland North America were fighting for life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

Conflicts with the British such as the Pequot War (1636-1637) and King Phillip’s War (1675-1676), resulted in the transportation of Pequot, Wampanoag, Narragansett, Mohegan, Cherokee and Taino people, in addition to South and Central Americans, to various European colonies, including Bermuda.

These people did not have a choice of where they would travel to, they were slaves.

The St David’s Islanders and Native Community holds a pow wow every two years, a space for reconnection and continuance of tradition.

This video shows the final dance with members of the Community moving together with members of the public and the Warwick Gombeys. The MC invited all in attendance to join the dance and in doing so, to 'receive some of the medicine’.

To travel by choice is a privilege. We look forward to welcoming you to Bermuda to share more of this island with you.

This ancient underground grotto was known as Prospero's Magic Cave when it first opened to the public in the 1920's for an admission charge of three shillings and tuppence (two pence).

Prospero is a central character in The Tempest, which is commonly thought to have been based on William Shakespeare's account of the shipwreck of Sir George Somers and his party in 1609 which lead to their arrival to Bermuda.

In 2002, it was featured on the 80 cent stamp, slide forward to see!

We host vinyasa yoga classes inside this cave every Saturday at 7-8am.
