January doesn’t need pressure — or perfection.

ROOTED is a one-off, in-person group workshop designed to offer support at a time of year when many people feel low, overwhelmed, or disconnected. The session takes place the same day as Blue Monday — often referred to as the most emotionally challenging day of the year — making it a timely moment to pause and reset with intention.
Rather than pushing for dramatic change, ROOTED creates space to reflect on what you truly need, what you want to carry forward, and how to set realistic goals that fit your life — not someone else’s expectations.

Expect:
🌿 gentle structure, not rigid rules
🌿 guided reflection and conversation
🌿 practical tools for building sustainable momentum
🌿 a calm, supportive group environment

💙 When things feel heavy — support matters.

In yesterday's Royal Gazette, our Managing Director reflects on why the festive season — and the weeks that follow — can be emotionally challenging for so many people.
January brings its own pressures: financial strain, reduced daylight, disrupted routines and the weight of “fresh start” expectations. All of this often culminates around Blue Monday — commonly referred to as the most emotionally difficult day of the year.
At Solstice, we see this every year. And we’re clear about one thing: struggling during this time is not a personal failure — it’s a human response.

That’s why we’re introducing Rooted — a new whole-person programme designed to help people move away from quick fixes and instead build sustainable, grounding habits that support mental and emotional wellbeing.

Because support isn’t just helpful — it matters.

We’re resharing our Managing Director’s recent interview, reflecting on how demand for mental health support often increases during the festive season — driven by heightened anxieties and a growing openness to seeking help which appeared in today's Royal Gazette
As Kelly Madeiros, Managing Director of Solstice, shares, these conversations matter — and support should always be within reach.

January doesn’t need another reset — or another round of self-blame.

In today’s The Royal Gazette, Solstice nutritionist Neresh Douglas explores why quick-fix January weight-loss plans so often fail — and what actually supports lasting change.

At Solstice, we take an integrated approach that looks at mind, nutrition and movement together, recognising the role of stress, sleep, hormones and emotional wellbeing.

✨ If you’re ready to start differently this January, we’re here.

Holiday Hacks: Well-being and the Holidays. Please find the link to a recent podcast with Dr Shawnee Basden and Applied Psychology Assistant Hailey Barnett who discuss ways to take care of yourself during the holidays.

For many, this season can bring up family stress, grief, loneliness, financial pressure, or complicated emotions, even when it looks like everyone else is celebrating.

In a recent conversation, our team reflected on a few gentle reminders:

There’s no “right” way to feel during the holidays

It’s okay to set boundaries around family, time, and expectations

Small routines, movement, and moments of connection can help regulate big feelings

Asking for support is a strength, not a failure

💛 Support is available.

The holidays aren’t joyful for everyone.
For some, this season brings loss, loneliness, family stress, or added pressure around alcohol and other substances. It can also stir up painful comparisons — feeling like everyone else is coping better or celebrating more easily.

If this time of year feels heavy, you’re not alone — and there’s nothing wrong with you.

Give yourself permission to slow down. Breathe. Focus on what feels manageable, not what you think you should be feeling or doing. Small steps matter, and healing doesn’t follow a fixed timeline.

Family dynamics can be complicated, and navigating gatherings or expectations can be exhausting. It’s okay to set boundaries, take breaks, or choose what supports your wellbeing.

If you need extra support, our mental health team is here for you.

2026: Turning Vision Into Action: Reflective Goal-Setting & Accountability for the Year Ahead
Vision Into Action is a 2-hour, clinically informed workshop is designed to help participants use structured reflection to clarify meaningful goals and build realistic accountability systems that support follow-through throughout the year.

Rather than relying on motivation alone, this workshop uses intentional reflection as a therapeutic tool—helping participants explore patterns, behaviours, and decision-making processes that influence goal attainment. Reflection is used to increase insight, reduce self-sabotage, and inform grounded, achievable planning.

Through guided reflective writing, art-based therapeutic exercises, and structured planning, participants are supported to move thoughtfully from awareness to action.

In this workshop, you will:
✔ Engage in structured reflection to identify patterns that have supported or blocked progress
✔ Develop awareness of internal drivers such as values, motivation, stress responses, and avoidance
✔ Set clear, clinically informed goals aligned with capacity—not pressure
✔ Translate insight into specific, actionable steps
✔ Build personal accountability systems that promote consistency without burnout
✔ Leave with a practical action plan designed to be revisited and refined throughout the year

Accountability in this workshop is framed as a supportive structure, not a measure of success or failure. The focus is on creating systems that work with your nervous system, energy levels, and real-life demands.

Vision Into Action is ideal for individuals seeking a thoughtful, psychologically grounded approach to change—one that balances reflection, responsibility, and compassion.
