Our whole island is grieving in someway or another. All of these deaths within the past few months continue to hit home or close to it. 🥺

My favorite guy recently ascended. My Daddy! 💫 Since returning back to Bermuda and leaving my immediate family. I’ve realized that grief is a highly individual experience. There is no right or wrong way to deal with it. When my emotions are running wild in relation to him, I do what I can do in that moment to find peace. I’m still finding healthy ways to deal with the grieving process as I never thought I’d have to experience it this soon! But here I am! 🙃

This may help if you are also grieving over a loved one:

✨Acknowledge your pain
✨Accept that grief can and will trigger many different snd unexpected emotions.
✨Don’t let anyone tell you how to grieve, as it’s unique to you just like your relationship with that person!
✨Support yourself emotionally by taking care of yourself physically! 🙃

When was the last time you engaged in play? 💭
Lately my dad, Asaar + I have been monster truck racing, taking orders every time I go in the kitchen, doing puzzles and being Spider-Man + Avengers mama! 🦸🏾‍♀️🧩🥗🚜 😂

Play is crucial as we creep into adulthood as it encourages us to be adaptive, creative + forces mind-body connection. Just like children, when we engage in play, it naturally brings us happiness and joy. Playing allows us to enter a natural, safe, and care free environment that freely explores our inner thinking.

No need for me to tell you the numerous benefits, just GO PLAY! ✌🏾🪀

Embracing acceptance of your hue- manners! 🧘🏽‍♀️ 🍃

Here’s the lesson for all of us..
We are hue-man. Our bodies are amazing + our bodies go out of balance sometimes. They age. They suffer injury. This is the human condition. Illness + ailments are stark reminders, but also wake-up calls! There is so much we cannot control. Surrender to that awareness and focus solely on your capabilities.

I AM AT PEACE ☮️ AS I AM.

We all have stressors that shake us up, knock us out of our peace, cloud our minds or become burdens. We want to instantly change them, pretend they don’t exist or just wish they didn’t exist!

Whether it be the work, bills, to do list, humans in our lives, they all from time to time end up owning us, consume us, or drive us spiritually away from our true selves. ACCEPTANCE means that you do not let these things own you or your life. They exist. They will continue to exist! 💣

It is our response to these stressors that is within our control. Accepting things as they are that help us to thrive despite what’s taking place.

I’ve simply learned to quickly recognize and accept these stressors as part of my journey.

I remind myself not to get too attached to good or bad moments as they can also lead to vanity, an overinflated ego, become a distraction from all the goodness that life has to offer or meaningful connections with people.

This is why I’m reminded that humility and being attached to nothing is key 🔑 to my practice on + off the mat!

You ever feel like you’re living in a fog or your thoughts are cloudy?
Concentrating + making decisions becomes a task? That is the OPPOSITE of having mental clarity. Then when the fog is lifted, your mind is calm + you feel empowered to make decisions you feel good about, you are experiencing mental clarity! 💥

I’m always striving to gain mental clarity (make it make sense! Lol) as it helps me to stay aligned with my purpose and feel significant.🖤
A few reasons why I strive to gain mental clarity 🔑

- Having clarity minimizes doubt + increases my self-confidence.
- When I am clear headed, I experience less confusion + frustration.
- In order for me to set goals, create a plan + take action—basically move forward in life—I need clarity.
- I find that I can make better (and faster) decisions that are aligned with my core values.
- Happiness + joy are the only staples in my life when I have mental clarity! 🙃
- Having clarity brings more energy and focus to my day.

Common areas where we might look for clarity:
Career, relationships, family, where to live, finances + health.

So, how do we gain clarity?
S E L F R E F L E C T I O N
- Begin with your ‘who’ - who are u?
- What is it that you really want?
- Why? + Keep asking yourself why several times.
- How?- Once you figure out your why, decide how you’re going to get there. This is where you get to create a plan, set goals + achieve them. Your when and where will come out of this as well.

Additionally.. 🍒
- Unplug
- Take care of your mind + body (release those endorphins!)
