Good morning Bahamas, this week we’ll start our two week long series focusing on, Resiliency: Learning to Cope Through Adversity.

What is resiliency?
•Resiliency is having the ability to recover quickly/ bounce back from a difficult situation.

For example, a student making a major mistake on their Glat/ BJC or BGCSE National exam. Resiliency in this situation will take the form of:
•The child being compassionate to themselves
•Redirecting their unhealthy thoughts of not being smart enough to being more healthy “I made a mistake and I’ll do better next time and I need to be better prepared for my exams.”
•Revist study strategies and prepare more for the exams .

How to build resiliency in students?
•Speak positively to them
•Give them the opportunity and space to process their thoughts, emotions and behaviors
•Encourage them to leave self care

Each day come back for more tips on building resiliency in kids!

Remember, we’re all in this together!
