Key Roles and Responsibilities under NAECOB:

1. Accredited Training Provider:
LEAD will serve as a registered and accredited training provider for the Universal Prevention Curriculum (UPC), Universal Treatment Curriculum (UTC), and Universal Recovery Curriculum (URC), as recognized by both DAP and NAECOB. These training programs will be disseminated according to NAECOB standards for educational and training programs in the Bahamas.
2. Professional Development and Credentialing:
Under its NAECOB registration, LEAD will facilitate continuous education and professional development in prevention, treatment, and recovery. This will include preparing participants for credentials such as ICAP Prevention, ICAP Treatment, and ICRS. The training delivered will comply with NAECOB's standards for educational excellence and professional certification.
3. Monitoring and Reporting:
As a NAECOB-registered entity, LEAD will submit quarterly reports and student data to DAP to monitor progress and activities. This reporting will also align with NAECOB’s transparency and quality assurance requirements in delivering accredited programs.
4. Recognition of Training Hours:
The professional development hours awarded to participants in these programs will be recognized by both DAP and NAECOB, ensuring that the certifications and training provided meet national and international standards.

By carrying out these responsibilities under the NAECOB registration, The National LEAD Institute will maintain a high standard of education and training, ensure compliance with national policies, and contribute to individuals' professional growth in substance use prevention, treatment, and recovery.

On this World Mental Health Day, we are reminded that mental health is not a luxury but a necessity for a fulfilled life. As President & CEO of The National LEAD Institute and Director of ISSUP Bahamas National Chapter, I have witnessed firsthand the profound interconnection between substance use disorders (SUD) and mental health challenges. They often co-exist, feeding off each other, creating cycles that seem impossible to break. But there is hope.

We can break these chains through strategic intervention, compassionate treatment, and holistic support. Our work at The National LEAD Institute is not just about recovery—it's about reclaiming lives, restoring dignity, and redefining futures. As an International Certified Addiction Professional, I stand with all who are battling SUDs and mental health struggles. Together, we can foster a world where healing is not just a possibility, but a reality, and thriving is the goal.

Let's break the stigma together. Let’s stand for comprehensive mental health care for all because no one should have to walk this journey alone. The road may be long, but we can rise above with faith, support, and the right resources. We’re committed to building bridges of hope where once there were only barriers.

A Monumental Milestone: The National LEAD Institute Celebrates 15 Years of Vision, Impact, and Global Recognition

As I proudly mark 15 years as the Founding President and CEO of The National LEAD Institute, a beacon of hope in Community Corrections, Training, and Human Services, my heart overflows with profound gratitude. I am deeply thankful to God and to every individual, partner, and supporter who has journeyed with me in this mission to transform lives and uplift communities. Together, we have achieved international status, demonstrating the significant impact of our work.

Today, I am thrilled to share a groundbreaking development. The National LEAD Institute is one step closer to obtaining Observer Status with the United Nations, a monumental achievement for a non-profit organization from a developing nation like ours. This recognition is a testament to the impact and integrity of the work we’ve been dedicated to for over a decade.

This historic milestone fulfills a prophetic word spoken over my life by the late Dr. Myles Munroe on September 7, 2009—a word that has guided our mission and continues to shape our purpose. Today, I am honored to announce that our application to observe the Twelfth Session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Convention against Transnational Organized Crime has been officially approved. This prestigious event will take place in person from October 14 to 18, 2024, at the Vienna International Centre, Austria.

Our acceptance into this conference marks a pivotal moment for The National LEAD Institute as we take our place on the global stage, representing our commitment to addressing critical issues of transnational organized crime and community rehabilitation. We are assembling a dedicated team of professionals in drug demand reduction, prevention, intervention, and rehabilitation of the at-risk and offender demographics to travel to Vienna and proudly represent our organization and the broader vision of transformation for the marginalized, the forgotten, and the underserved.

This achievement is not just a victory for The National LEAD Institute—it is a beacon of hope and possibility for non-profits everywhere, especially those in developing nations. It signals that even the most minor organizations can have a global impact with unwavering faith, dedication, and the proper support.

To everyone who has believed in and supported our work: This is your victory, too. Your belief and support have been integral to our success. The journey is far from over, but this milestone propels us into a future of even greater possibilities.

We move forward in faith, knowing that our mission to transform lives is only beginning. Our commitment to this mission is unwavering, and we are confident in the future that lies ahead.

With all my gratitude and deepest thanks,

Troy E. Clarke I
Founding President & CEO

Testimony: Fifteen years ago, Dr. Myles Munroe prophesied over my life. Today, in 2024, that prophecy is my reality. From the inner city of Nassau, raised by a single mother, I’ve risen to step out into the world and make a difference. A poor black boy turned world-changer—this is the work of God alone. Look at what He has done.
