04/02/2026 - Honourable Dasho Dzongda’s First Official Visit to Our Hospital

We were honoured to receive Honourable Dasho Dzongda on his first official visit to our hospital. During the visit, Dasho interacted with patients and hospital staff and shared valuable insights on the important role hospitals play as the most public-facing institutions.

Dasho emphasized the need to serve patients with compassion, humility, and respectful communication. He reminded us that every staff member from cleaners to doctors carries equal responsibility in enhancing patient experience and ensuring that patients feel cared for and respected.

Dasho also highlighted the importance of disaster management and preparedness, and raised concerns regarding the growing burden of Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs), underscoring the need for continued public awareness.

Sharing his experience as a civil servant, Dasho encouraged lifelong learning, developing a reading habit, and making it a practice to learn or do something new each week.

The visit was truly inspiring and motivating for all of us, reaffirming our commitment to providing compassionate and quality healthcare services to the community.

Why Are Hospital Visitors Restricted?

Visitor restrictions are in place to protect patients, visitors, and healthcare staff and to ensure safe, effective medical care.

Key Reasons:

1. To prevent infections: Visitors can unknowingly carry germs that may cause serious illness in patients with weak immunity.
2. To ensure patient safety: Fewer visitors help reduce distractions, overcrowding, and the risk of medical errors.
3. To allow patients to rest and recover: Patients need a calm environment for healing; too many visitors can cause fatigue and stress.
4. To protect privacy and dignity: Medical examinations and discussions require confidentiality.
5. To maintain a safe environment: Controlled visiting helps prevent overcrowding, confusion, and security concerns.
6. To support quality care: Healthcare staff can focus better on patient treatment when the ward environment is orderly.

Compassionate Exceptions:
Hospitals may allow special visiting arrangements for:

-Critically ill patients
-End-of-life care
-Children, the elderly, or patients needing a caregiver

Your Cooperation Matters

By following visiting rules, you help:

-Protect your loved ones
-Protect other patients
-Support healthcare workers in providing the best care

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

🚨 HOSPITAL IS NOT FIRST COME, FIRST SERVE , PLEASE READ!

Lately, there have been many complaints from the public saying nurses and doctors are “not being fair” because someone may be waiting for a long time, only for another person to come in and be attended first. Some believe it’s because the patient is our relative or someone we personally know.

This is not true.

In hospitals, we use a system called TRIAGE.

Triage means putting the right patient, in the right place, to receive the right treatment, at the right time, by the right personnel.

In simple terms:
We attend to the patient whose condition is more serious not the one who arrived first. This is not favouritism; this is saving lives.

Examples:

Someone with a mild fever or headache may wait longer because they are stable.

Someone who is struggling to breathe, bleeding heavily, unconscious, or in critical danger will be seen immediately, even if they arrived later.

This is why you may see another patient being taken in before you.
It is not because we know them , it is because their life may be at risk.

Please also understand that sometimes we may already be with your patient, but if a sudden emergency comes in, we might need to pause and attend to the person whose condition is more critical.

We do this because our priority is to save lives

👉 Let’s reduce conflict and increase understanding in our hospitals.
👉 Spread awareness, not assumptions.

World Stroke Day – 29th October

Our hospital observed World Stroke Day to raise awareness on preventing and recognizing stroke early.

CMO Dr. Kezang Wangdi addressed patients and staff, highlighting the warning signs; sudden weakness, slurred speech, facial drooping, or loss of balance and emphasized that quick action saves lives.

As part of the program, diabetes, hypertension, and BMI screenings were carried out for both patients and staff to promote early detection and prevention of stroke risk factors.

We’ve also shared a stroke awareness infographic below, please take a moment to go through it and learn how to Act FAST!

Friendly Khuru Match with Nganglam Hospital staff.

On 27th July( Sunday), the staff of Nganglam Hospital came together for a friendly khuru match aimed at fostering teamwork, relaxation, and community spirit. The match, held in a light-hearted and cheerful atmosphere, brought together both clinical and non-clinical staff members for a fun-filled day of traditional sportsmanship.

Laughter, cheering, and good-natured banter echoed throughout the playing area as participants took turns showcasing their skills and enjoying the game. The event not only provided a refreshing break from the daily routine but also strengthened bonds among colleagues.

Such friendly matches reflect the hospital’s commitment to promoting well-being, both physical and mental, among its staff. It was a day of unity, joy, and cultural appreciation — and everyone walked away with smiles and great memories. The delightful day came to an abrupt end due to incessant rain towards afternoon.
