‎CRRH conducted CLASS 3 of its Continuing Professional Development (CPD) series on 25 February 2026.
‎
‎The session was delivered by Dr. Choten Gyeltshen, Psychiatrist, who spoke about Conversion Disorder — a condition in which emotional or psychological stress appears as physical symptoms such as weakness, difficulty walking, loss of sensation, or seizure-like episodes, even though no neurological disease is found.
‎
‎Dr. Choten highlighted the following key points:
‎
‎1. Recognizing different physical symptoms, including movement problems, sensory changes, and seizure-like episodes that are not caused by epilepsy.
‎2. Carefully distinguishing this condition from epilepsy and other disorders affecting the brain and nervous system.
‎3. Identifying stress related to personal, family, or work issues while ruling out medical causes.
‎4. The importance of counselling approaches such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
‎5. Early recognition and support lead to better recovery and outcomes.

‎The CLASS CPD series is conducted in a hybrid format, allowing participants to attend both in person and online.

‎The Central Regional Referral Hospital Annual Report 2025 (CAR ’25) was launched yesterday, and on the same day, a copy of the report was respectfully submitted to Her Majesty the Gyalyum Sangay Choden Wangchuck during Her Majesty’s visit to the RENEW Centre in Gelephu. The report is dedicated to the 46th Birth Anniversary of His Majesty The King. The primary objective of the CAR series is to compile hospital-level statistics into a readily accessible format to inform hospital administrators and service providers about the status of healthcare delivery and to support improvements in the quality of services.
‎
‎The ceremony began with the offering of prayers led by the Hospital Lama, followed by a presentation summarising CAR ’25. The preparation of the report was a team work involving all unit in-charges and members of the Editorial Committee. The annual report serves as a moment of reflection on our performance and a reaffirmation of our commitment to excellence in patient care and evidence-based practice. At a time when Gelephu Mindfulness City is taking shape, we remain steadfast in our efforts to continually improve the quality of care and to thrive and lead as healthcare providers.

The Chorten contains sacred Sangay Ringsel (mother pills), several Toed Gangri Chenpoi Febdung, and precious Rangjung Ringsels. ‎Central Regional Referral Hospital held a ceremony to honor the promotions of its dedicated staff members on 17 Febraury 2026.

‎A total of 53 employees were recognized for their career advancement:

‎1. One specialist Doctor was promoted to ES2 and one Clinical Nurse was promoted to ES3

‎2. Four Specialist doctors were promoted to P2 under the Doctors career pathway

‎3.One Clinical Nurse was promoted to P2 under the meritorious category

‎4. Forty-six staff members were promoted within the broad-band category

‎The event began with the offering of butter lamps and prayers at the altar of Sangye Menla, followed by the presentation of khadars and promotion letters to the recipients by the Hospital Lam. The ceremony was also attended by the Medical Superintendent, Nursing Superintendent, unit in-charges, and representatives from the HR Section.
