Exciting News from the Botswana Endometriosis Foundation!!!!!!

We are expanding our advocacy efforts! In addition to raising awareness about endometriosis, we will now also be incorporating adenomyosis awareness into our mission.

So, what is adenomyosis?
Adenomyosis is a condition where the inner lining of the uterus (endometrium) grows into the muscular wall of the uterus. This can cause severe pain, heavy menstrual bleeding, and bloating, symptoms that often overlap with endometriosis. Despite affecting many women, adenomyosis remains underdiagnosed and misunderstood—just like endometriosis.

Why are we making this move?
Both conditions impact women’s reproductive health, quality of life, and access to proper care. Many people with endometriosis also have adenomyosis, yet resources and awareness remain scarce. By broadening our scope, we hope to educate, advocate, and push for better healthcare solutions for all affected individuals.

We are excited for this new chapter and look forward to working with all of you to shine a brighter light on both endometriosis and adenomyosis!

Dear 2025 Endometriosis

Awareness Walk Participants,

We hope this message finds you well and excited for tomorrow’s 10km Endometriosis Awareness Walk.

We are so grateful for your support and enthusiasm as we come together to raise awareness, share stories, and advocate for those living with endometriosis.

We would like to inform you of a change in the walk route due to an overlap with another march taking place tomorrow. To ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for everyone, we have adjusted our route as follows:

New Route:
- Start Point: GSS Grounds
- From GSS Grounds to South Ring Mall
- From South Ring Mall to the Old BURS Road
- From Old BURS Road via Fairgrounds Mall
- Back to GSS Grounds

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this change may cause and appreciate your understanding as we work to make this event a success. Your safety and comfort are our top priorities, and we believe this new route will allow us to walk together seamlessly while maintaining the spirit of the event.

Thank you for your understanding, and we can’t wait to see you tomorrow at the GSS Grounds at 0600hrs

With gratitude and excitement,
The Botswana Endometriosis Foundation
