Do remember to visit a health facility for breast examination.

✔️pick a day once a month to do a breast check...atleast 2 weeks after your periods.

✔️know the shape and size, check ni***es for retraction or discharge

✔️check for any skin changes

✔️check for lumps using your finger tips.
Starting from the arm pit, with your arm behind your head. Use the opposite hand to fill for lumps. Do not skip any spot.

✔️if you are not sure of what you are feeling, or have any of the above changes, visit the clinic.

✔️if you are over 40, do a mammogram, at minimum, every 2 years.

✔️ if you are below 40, and your mother/siblings have had a breast cancer or if you have a lump... speak to your doctor about doing an ultrasound of your breasts.

MUMPS…...MAKIDIANE

This is a viral infection, that can easily spread through sharing stuff, sneezing, coughing, talking etc.

SYMPTOMS:

The kids can complain of pains and swelling of the cheeks (it affects our salivary glands), headaches, fatigue, fever, stomach pains,loss of appetite etc.

It’s common in 2 to 12 year olds…but can also affect teens and adults.

TREATMENT

Mumps has no treatment… recovery can be in 3 to 10 days.
The best care is prevention through VACCINATION.

For relief, drink fluids, gargle with salt water, take painkillers, avoid acidic foods.

COMPLICATIONS

Mumps can complicate and affect hearing, joints, testicles, ovaries, brain etc.

BACK TO SCHOOL

Check with you doctor before you take your child back to school.

Oral herpes AKA oral sore AKA Ntho ya tlhogo

Oral herpes is caused by the HSV-1 virus.
We can get from contact with someone with oozing herpes blisters.

: the virus can still be transmitted sometimes in the absence of blisters.

• 💋Kissing…this is how some young children get it…being kissed by an adult who is infected.
• Contact…sharing utensils etc.
• The ge***al herpes can be transmitted to the mouth through Oral s*x.



Painful sore, tingling, fever etc that can last up to 14 days.



This is a lifelong infection. Blisters can occur during :
• Episodes of low immunity, e.g. when having flu
• Fatigue
• Hormonal changes e.g. period times
• Stressful times.



Use a cream..or see your doctor especially if no improvement in 2 weeks.

📌📌Avoid kissing babies on the mouth.

Energy drinks...

Dragon, monster, fire etc...the containers are actually scary looking 😳

Something to get rid of this year if you are a user. It has some stimulants that are not only addictive but can be very harmful to your body.

Supermarkets are also unto this, with fridges placed next to the pay points.

Sports drinks are ok to take before and during physical exercise for hydration and replacement of some salts..

I have followed posts with this medication prescribed by non medics.

This is a prescription ONLY medication. A pharmacist selling you this without one is breaking the law..



This is an antifungal medication that is used in treating simple infection like ge***al candida/thrush, oral candida to serious infections such as cryptococal meningitis and even some pneumonia

These infections can be deadly.
During the AIDS Era, this medication was only reserved to people with very low cd4 counts to protect them from meningitis.

Now with this casual use of this medication, we are very likely to have drug resistance. Have some Supa bugs..
..imagine having someone with vaginal yeast infection that is not responding to medications.

Please see a Dr or a nurse for medical issues. These services are free in public clinics if you can't afford private care.

The cold season is upon us..

-if coughing, use a mask in public spaces such as shops, church, banks etc.

-take fluids, ensure kids are warmly dressed for school

-Avoid over the counter medications for kids. Most cough syrup medicines and others like allergex should not be given to a child under 2 years, unless it is Dr's instruction.

-Most colds are due to a virus..no needs for antibiotics unless prescribed.

Continue washing hands and use sanitizers..
