You’ve probably heard about NCDs — but what do they really mean for you?

Non-Communicable Diseases are conditions that don’t spread from person to person, but they can quietly affect your health and quality of life over time.

The good news? Many of them can be prevented or managed with the right knowledge and care.

Take the first step and speak to our team to learn more.

Today we wore mismatched socks, not just for awareness, but as a reminder. 💙💛

A reminder that being different is not something to fix or hide. It’s something to understand, to accept, and to make space for.

For individuals with Down syndrome, inclusion isn’t about big gestures. It’s in the small, everyday moments ,being welcomed, being spoken to, being seen.

We stand for that kind of inclusion. The kind that makes people feel like they truly belong.

Are you wearing your mismatched socks today? We’d love to see 💙💛

Today we commemorate World Down Syndrome Day 💙💛

Down syndrome is a genetic condition caused by the presence of an extra chromosome 21. It may affect how a person learns, develops, and communicates, but with the right support, individuals with Down syndrome can grow, learn, and live full, meaningful lives.

What matters most is how we respond, with patience, inclusion, and genuine connection. Simple acts like kindness, understanding, and making space for everyone to belong can make a lasting difference.

This year’s theme, “Together Against Loneliness,” reminds us of the importance of connection, understanding, and creating spaces where everyone feels valued and included.

Let us all play a part in building a more inclusive and supportive community.

This morning, our very own Mrs Tebogo Nhlatho (CFO at Doctors Inn Private Hospital and Chairperson of the Down Syndrome Association of Botswana) took to the airwaves to discuss an initiative close to our hearts.

With World Down Syndrome Day (WDSD) approaching on 21 March, the focus this year is clear and powerful: "Together Against Loneliness."

📍 What’s Happening?

From 20–22 March 2026, Lobatse will host a three-day camp and awareness programme. This isn't just an event; it’s a movement to:

Combat Isolation: Addressing the social challenges and loneliness that often disproportionately affect those with disabilities.

Promote Inclusion: Amplifying the voices of people living with Down syndrome across Botswana.

Build Support: Strengthening the networks between caregivers, stakeholders, and the wider community.

💙 Our Commitment

At Doctors Inn, we don’t just provide medical care; we believe in a Botswana where everyone lives a dignified, connected, and fulfilling life. As Tebogo highlighted this morning, it takes a village to ensure that no one is left behind.

"It’s about more than awareness—it’s about meaningful participation and ensuring every individual feels seen and supported."

With heavy hearts, we bid farewell to our colleague Mr Letlotlo, who was laid to rest today in Lehututu Village.

Earlier this week, staff and loved ones gathered for a memorial service to honor his life, legacy, and the impact he made on those around him. We are grateful for the memories and the time we shared with him.

May his soul rest in peace.🕊🕊🕊
