This new moon is conjunct Regulus in the constellation of Leo. I can't even begin to explain how BIG this one is for the collective. Regulus is one of 4 fixed Royal Stars (along with Antares, Fomalhaut, and Aldebaran) associated with the 4 cardinal points. They are known as the Guardians of the Sky, and he is the Watcher of the North. Regulus brings with him great blessings of honor, courage, power, leadership, and success, but this blessing is bestowed only upon those whom he has deemed worthy of kingship. While the Sun conjuncts this fixed star every year, celestial happenings like this particular New Moon conjunction are rare. This planetary alignment signals a HUGE SHIFT in the collective consciousness and a crowning of sorts for those spiritually elected and fated for higher authority. If it's your life purpose to lead, you'll be pushed unto that path now. Regulus has a shadow side as well, and for those who have misused their authority and have not done the internal work towards healthy leadership, this is their time of reckoning. They'll be facing lessons involving pride, shame, infamy, misuse of power, and loss of authority. The New Moon is also in an applying square to Uranus, bringing an element of sudden change, shocking revelations, and unexpected disruptions. It's giving... overthrowing tyrannical regimes and building new sovereign kingdoms.
P.S. If you were born anywhere from August 21st - 23rd, you may have Sun conjunct Regulus natally (check your real sky chart to confirm as fixed stars require a tight orb, no more than 2°, to be effective) and carry the blessing of Regulus in your life. You will be a person who commands unspoken authority with a regal nature. You'll have the capacity for fame and success but may struggle with themes of pride, vanity, violence, and arrogance. There's a need to live with integrity and not misuse your influence to truly tap into Regulus' power and potential in your life.
