Physician mom traveling with toddlers in Placencia, Belize — here’s what actually worked for us.

We did wonder if this was the right trip to take with toddlers.
Long travel day. New place. Totally different routine.

But Placencia turned out to be exactly right.

We kept a few small things the same — morning coffee, familiar snacks, aiming for naps, trying to protect bedtime — and let the rest be messy, joyful, and full of adventure.

Every morning went to this little coffee spot that felt like a treehouse. The boys loved their banana bread, we had our coffee, and it became our anchor for the day.

That tiny bit of consistency? It made traveling with toddlers feel doable.
And seeing everything through their eyes made it unforgettable.

It wasn’t relaxing.
It was absolutely worth it.

If you’re waiting for the “right age” to travel… you might not need to.
