Life at the Creek is nothing short of spectacular. The grounds were transformed by an overnight snowfall. The atmosphere is filled with the spirit of Christmas. I was there to discuss recovery, baptism, and the promise of new life. It was a truly joyful experience! Although many residents are unable to spend the holiday season with their families as they focus on their recovery journey, there is immense joy in witnessing lives being transformed and renewed. Season's greetings from all the gentlemen at the Creek - Merry Christmas!

Quietly sitting by a Christmas tree, sipping your favorite Christmas blend of hot chocolate or coffee, may be the best part of the season. May your moments connect you to the beauty and wonder of the season, which reminds us that peace, as the angels declared, remains true for the whole world, even if it grows one person at a time.

We've had a real chaotic situation with floods and whatnot, but our rockstar team has totally stepped up to the plate. We're talking road closures, hydro outages, a water treatment system that went haywire, soggy basements, and deliveries in the dead of night - it's been a real challenge. But, as Christmas week kicks in, things are running smoothly. We even managed to upgrade the Creek with some swanky new mattresses. Thanks for your support in keeping the Creek up and running - it's making a real difference in people's lives! The video indicates just how high the river flowed - it is usually way lower than that.

Jamie K. — "My life before coming to Joshua House was a complete mess. I was always in and out of prison. I was doing drugs. My life got so bad that I became homeless and ended up in prison. My life has changed significantly since I have been here. This is the longest I have been sober since I started using drugs. I finally feel like I can do something with my life. I am excited to see what God has planned for my life and to live a life without drugs."

Thank you Russell Hendrix and Gary! They are are a commercial kitchen supplier located in Chilliwack. They had some stuff like plates, utensils, jugs, bowls and more taking up room in their warehouse. We needed gear. So they gifted us with all sorts of handy goods. Thank you! RH Cares! We asked for chairs, and then BAM! A generous dad of one of our residents swooped in and replaced our worn-out seats with 160 brand-new banquet and event chairs. Talk about a bottom-line upgrade!

Neat News Friends!
Joshua House now has an account registered with Return-It bottle depot. With several locations spread across the lower mainland, this makes it super easy to drop your empties off, and chose JH as the recipient. And another cool feature? Return-It also sends out official tax receipts at the end of the year. So, a simple act of dropping off your bag of empties can both help JH, and help you during tax season :)

This being my first Gala at JH, I was blown away by the overwhelming response. The energy and encouragement emanating from the 250 attendees were palpable. Our main goal was to gather, share stories, and invite you to join us in our mission to support men seeking freedom. Your generosity has left us inspired. Our small office team is still counting the donations, and we are inching closer to our internal goal of $100,000, although we are slightly short. Furthermore, we almost doubled our monthly partners. The Gala was a pivotal moment for us, allowing us to share our current progress and future aspirations. By 2030, JH plans to own 50% of the properties we operate, cultivate 100 new leaders for recovery work, and attract 1000 monthly partners to aid us in our fight against addiction's devastating impact on our communities. There is always time to give! If you are able, please do!

A special shout out to the Church of the Nazarene who came out expecting a table - we goofed that! But the Clarion delivered and the Church of the Nazarene were gracious as we sorted it out.
