If mindset work hasn’t helped your anxiety, it can start to feel frustrating.

You try to think differently.
Reframe your thoughts.
Stay positive.

And for a moment, it helps.

But then the feeling comes back.

That’s because anxiety doesn’t start in your thoughts.

It starts in your nervous system
in patterns your body learned over time to stay protected.

So when you try to change it only through thinking,
it can feel like you’re missing something.

You’re not doing it wrong.
You’re just working at the wrong level.

If your life looks fine on the outside, but you still feel anxious…
it can be confusing.

You might wonder:
“Why do I feel this way when nothing is actually wrong?”

The answer often isn’t in your thoughts ...
it’s in your nervous system.

Your body learns from past experiences.
And if it’s been in a state of stress, pressure, or unpredictability,
it can stay in that pattern… even when things are calm now.

So the anxiety you feel isn’t random.
And it isn’t a personal failure.

It’s your system trying to protect you the only way it knows how.

You're not broken. You're burnt out from carrying stuff you were never meant to hold alone.

I spent years thinking something was wrong with me. That I needed to be "fixed" before I could move forward. That all the anxiety, the overthinking, the stuck-ness meant I wasn't ready.

But here's what I learned: You don't need fixing. You need space. You need tools. You need someone to remind you that what you're carrying is heavy, and it makes sense that you feel the weight of it.

Your nervous system isn't broken. It's doing exactly what it was designed to do: protect you. The problem is, it's been in overdrive for too long.

You don't need to be perfect to start. You don't need to have it all together. You just need to be willing to put some of that weight down and take the first step.

You're not broken. You're human. And that's more than enough. 💚

You cannot think your way out of trauma.
Because trauma does not live in the mind. It lives in the body.

Journaling helps clear the mental noise.
Gratitude gently brings you back into the present moment.

But healing deep patterns requires a third step.
Feeling.

Instead of analyzing the story, ask your body:
Where do I feel this?
What does it feel like physically? Tightness, heaviness, pressure, pain?

Then stay with the sensation.
Breathe.
Allow your nervous system to process what was never felt at the time.

This is not about forcing release.
It is about creating safety for your body to let go, in its own time.

This is how trauma begins to soften.
From the inside out.

It’s choosing to notice what’s steady when your mind is spiraling.

That shift creates space.
And in that space, you can actually see what needs healing and what doesn’t.

If your mind won’t rest, your body can’t either.

Journaling isn’t about fixing yourself or finding answers.
It’s about letting the nervous system exhale.

When thoughts finally have somewhere to go, the body doesn’t have to stay on high alert, and that can quietly support things like sleep, anxiety, emotional eating, and overwhelm.

Take what helps. Leave the rest.
Nothing about you is broken 🤍

Hello, my old self.
I remember how loud your thoughts were.
How they wouldn’t slow down, even when your body was exhausted.

One thing that helped me then was journaling.
Not to fix myself.
Just to let the thoughts leave my head and land somewhere safe.

When the mind loops, the nervous system stays alert.
Writing gives it a place to rest.

If this speaks to you, take it.
If not, leave it.
Either way, you’re not broken.
