We are a Mother-Daughter duo that have a passion for aromatherapy and enjoy sharing our blends with family, friends and anyone who shares our passion for essential oils. They're made by steaming or pressing various parts of a plant (flowers, bark, leaves or fruit) to capture the compounds that produce fragrance. It can take several pounds of a plant to produce a single bottle of essential oil. Aromatherapy is a holistic healing treatment that uses natural plant extracts to promote health and well-being. It uses aromatic essential oils, medicinally, to improve the health of the body, mind and spirit. Inhaling essential oils, stimulates the olfactory system (the part of the brain connected to smell). Each essential oil has an array of unique healing properties, uses & effects. Combining essential oils to create a synergistic blend creates even more benefits. Just a couple drops of an essential oil (or essential oil blend) can be enough to permeate a small room, even from a corner. Some of the few benefits that we have found with our essential oils blends are:
• Boosts immunity
• helps fight bacteria, virus, or fungus
• reduces stress, agitation, and anxiety
• improves sleep quality
• soothes sore joints
• manages headaches and migraines
• improves digestion
• helps to manage pain
• and, if that isn’t enough, it just smells amazing! How to Store Essential Oils:
To keep oils at their optimal state they do not need to be refrigerated, just kept in a dry, cool, out of the light storage place. Make sure after every use the lids are tightly screwed on. Don't leave their lids off for more than a few seconds. Extended exposure to air will cause the essential oil to oxidize - destroying their therapeutic actions. The light (or high note) oils will ev***rate quickly if left exposed to the air or from not having their lids screwed on tightly. Also, if the oils are exposed to the light for any length of time, they can be destroyed. If by accident you have left your oils in a hot car, don't panic, just let them cool down naturally - don't take the lids off and lose those precious molecules. If they get frozen, that's ok too, just let them thaw naturally at room temperature. Caring for essential oils summary store out of sunlight, always keep in a blue or amber colored bottle, keep lid on so oil doesn’t ev***rate and oxidize and do not leave oils in the car during the summer. If you have pets, consider what is in the blend that you are using, as certain oils can be harmful to them. As well, where you diffuser is in relation to their regular activities. Some oils to avoid if you have cats around: citrus, grapefruit, lemon, orange, birch, cinnamon, clove, oregano, tea tree, thyme and wintergreen.
