CORE Essentials Private fitness training studio, Encouraging clients to know themselves, and their abilities.

Having completed all requirements as established by the Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology Health and Fitness Program, along with a year’s study in the Rehabilitation Program at Grant MacEwan college, I have gained a wealth of knowledge in human anatomy, physiology, nutrition, movement mechanics and injury management. I have also closely studied the principles and methods of safe training and exercise prescription, health promotion and lifestyle counselling. I am known for my approachable, energizing and uplifting presence that welcomes and challenges clients to strive for their own personal best. As a trainer in the fitness field myself, my primary goal is to encourage my clients to know themselves, and their abilities. I am constantly inspired by my clients' willingness to delve into the deeper aspects of themselves and apply that to their physical self to reach new levels of personal fitness.

10 years ago I walked into Core Essentials. Heart pounding; I wasn’t sure what to expect. I was arriving with a heavy heart on the heels of losing my beloved Father, and after doing much healing work, I knew the last pieces would land with Lindsay’s guidance.
Whether you subscribe to this or not, the body holds it all. Every ache and loss, every elation and joy; all for your expansion. It sits in your fascia, waiting to be released.
I think the first 4 months I wept in almost every session either on her floor or in the car on the ride home. Until one day it was ok. I had been lead to healing through breaking boundaries and beliefs, sprinting, lifting, hopping, stretching all with a gentle hand and heart we know as Lindsay.
Her gift doesn’t have words, it’s a dance of pushing you to your limits, holding up mirrors to see yourself, jumping for joy at your accomplishments and equally sharing her own vulnerable stories to show you we are all human, we are all moving through something.
Am I stronger at 51, you better fu***ng believe it, but it more ways than just my body.

TWELVE YEARS.

12 years of early mornings.
12 years of believing in women before they believed in themselves.
12 years of building something from passion, education, grit and heart.

When I opened my studio, I didn’t just want a place to train.I wanted a space where women felt safe. Seen. Strong. Capable.

Over the last decade, I’ve coached thousands of sessions — meeting women exactly where they are mentally and physically — from young girls finding confidence to women 65+ reclaiming their strength.

We’ve grown.
We’ve evolved.
We’ve won awards. (Platinum & Gold, multiple years running.)
But what I’m most proud of isn’t the recognition — it’s the COMMUNITY.

To every woman who has walked through my doors:You are the reason this space exists.You are the courage.You are the commitment.You are the magic.

And today, I’m honouring myself too.

Because building something for 12 years takes resilience. It takes innovation. It takes putting people first.

A client came In this morning, bright and early for her 6am session. And made a comment about my black coffee.
And it reminded me of something I’d like to share.

The Black Coffee Theory ☕

If you walk into a coffee shop and say,
“I don’t want black coffee.”

The barista just stands there.
She can’t serve you what you don’t want.

And yet… this is exactly how so many women approach their bodies.

“I don’t want this belly.”
“I don’t want to feel soft.”

Today we celebrate National Women in Sports Day — but more than medals or podiums, we celebrate the courage to show up.

To the women who train before sunrise, who juggle life and still make time to move their bodies with purpose — you are redefining strength. Every rep, every drill, every choice to keep going is you claiming space in a world that once told you to shrink.

To the girls and young athletes watching, learning, and daring to dream — this is for you too.
You’re learning discipline, resilience, confidence, and self-belief. You’re learning how to fall, get back up, and try again. Sport isn’t just building athletes — it’s building leaders.

Growth isn’t always loud. Sometimes it’s quiet consistency. Sometimes it’s choosing yourself on the hard days. Sometimes it’s believing you belong exactly where you are.

Keep challenging yourself. Keep learning. Keep taking up space.
Strong bodies. Strong minds. Unstoppable hearts.

Sloane you remind me every day why I do what I do. Whether it’s watching you in your element in the net, on a Tennis Court, battling in Pickleball, climbing mountains, watching you race downhill on a bike catching fly balls in the outfield or jumping off cliffs - im always amazed at your ability to just give it all you got!

Here’s to all women and girls who don’t just play the game —
they change it. 💪✨

I find this stuff so fascinating. GO take a sip of water people!

Everyone is starting to realize how important fascia is when it comes to training the body, but most people still underestimate how deeply it influences movement.

Hydrated fascia behaves very differently, down to the cellular level. Not only does it participate in bioelectric signaling, it also plays a major role in how much range of motion your body can access during exercise. When this tissue is loaded correctly, it becomes elastic and responsive. Your muscles coordinate better, your posture improves, and energy becomes more stable because your body isn’t fighting itself to move.

When this tissue loses its elasticity and structural organization, your body begins moving in ways that increase tension, stiffness, and joint stress in the wrong areas. This is when people start experiencing the movement degradation that eventually leads to pain. Hydration in the body isn’t just about drinking more water. It depends on restoring the mechanical conditions that allow fluid to move through your tissue with minimal friction.

The visual on the left is exactly what we help you overcome through our training. This is what you see in the transformations we help people achieve, where their bodies begin to look more viscoelastic and full.

If you want to improve your movement, you not only need to strengthen the muscles that are weak, you also need to build the mechanics that distribute tension efficiently throughout your fascial system. The quality of your movement determines the quality of your tissue.
