💙 A huge thank you to the Stevenson Memorial Hospital Auxiliary for their incredible generosity!

Through their latest gift of $40,000, the Auxiliary is helping fund a new portable X-ray unit, an essential piece of equipment that will enhance diagnostic care and improve the patient experience right here at Stevenson.

This vital equipment will allow care teams to provide faster, more efficient imaging at the bedside, supporting timely diagnosis and treatment when it matters most.

The Auxiliary’s ongoing commitment to supporting patient care continues to make a meaningful impact across our hospital and community.

Power at the hospital has now been fully restored. All programs and services are operating as usual and patient care continues across the hospital.

Thank you to our patients, visitors, and community for your patience during the outage, and to our staff for their teamwork and dedication while operating on generator power.

We are so pleased to announce that Dr. Ihab Khalil, SMH Emergency Department physician has received the Teaching Excellence Award from the University of Toronto MD program.

Dr. Khalil was recognized by his students for being an outstanding leader and educator in undergraduate medical education.

Over the past 10 years, Dr. Khalil has mentored more than 50 resident physicians in programs from the University of Toronto, McMaster University, Queens University and Western University. He has also mentored many medical students who are starting their education in the medical field.

Congratulations Dr. Khalil! SMH is honoured to be a hospital that mentors and educates physicians of tomorrow and to have such exemplary physicians providing care to our patients every day.
