🧠 January is Alzheimer’s Awareness Month
In Canada more than 470,000 people are currently living with Alzheimer’s disease, the most common form of dementia. This number is expected to rise as our population ages making awareness, education, and action extremely important.
Our favourite way to support brain health is physical activity! 🙌
Regular movement has been shown to:
⛹️ Lower the risk of developing Alzheimer’s disease
⛳ Improve blood flow and oxygen delivery to the brain
🚴♀️ Support memory, thinking, and overall cognitive health
Movement is medicine no matter how you do it! Walking, cycling, swimming, dancing, or any combination of consistent daily movement can make a big difference.
This month let’s start prioritizing brain health through movement. 💪
