Welcoming January........rosy cheeks, making snowmen, sipping on hot chocolate and waiting to see Anna, as promised, in her different kilts on her shifts as she builds up excitement for Robbie Burns Day.

A few more Christmas pictures - a lovely choir from Clayton in to sing carols and Santa's visit with our Residents - everyone was so happy. We thank our Santa(s) for taking time to visit our Residents xoxoxo❤️

Happy Christmas Eve to all near and far - we hope everyone is home relaxing with a cuppa and enjoying the Christmas season! Here's some pictures from the last little while; we have been very blessed and busy accepting gifts from so many in the community - may your kindness be returned a hundred-fold. The Home is looking festive; Residents enjoy the decorating and taste testing of all the treats being brought in by families and friends. Of course, amazing entertainment in and even some unscheduled entertainers have chosen to drop in and sing some Christmas carols and hymns. Everyone is so lovely - we thank you on behalf of our Residents.

Good Friday afternoon all, a good afternoon to be sipping hot chocolate and catching up on the news. This week we welcomed the Almonte Legion Members and Mayor Lowry who came in to do the Remembrance Day Service with our Residents. It was very, very lovely and we so appreciate you including us as we know you have a lot of stops to make. We also welcomed Cheryl Camelon-Barker and her Naismith Kindergarten class – all 29! They sang songs and entertained the Residents, it was very, very sweet. Mike Wattie and Andrew McDougall were in to play music, and Mabel was in to make the rounds this afternoon. We hope you all are cozied up for the weekend and we wish you a Happy Friday - from our Home to Yours xo

Well, as usual Cheryl was the Treat Fairy today with her cart laden with Monster Floats – and were they a hit…Residents loved them, staff adored them, with Anna and Kylie providing the strong arms needed for all that ice cream. Well done ladies 😉 We had some pretty fun costumes show up today, great team spirit everyone – you all brought many, many smiles to our Residents…..you make a difference here and we appreciate you. Earlier in the week we had Crafts led by one of our Residents – Pat – who wanted to share her talents with other Residents, nicely done! And at our recent Resident’s Council Meeting, Residents requested our Travelling Evening Entertainment to be weekly and so Andrew will be joining us weekly going forward. So nice to see Residents popping out of their rooms when they hear him coming down the lane, just something warm and wonderful about the evening ending with some familiar tunes! Happy Friday and Happy Halloween from our Home to Yours …

Good Thursday morning to all near and far. November finds us looking forward to our annual visit from our friends from the Almonte Legion as well as the Almonte Cooperative Nursery School and the kindergarten children from Naismith. We are happy to see November arrive with the cool, crisp, fresh air and more birds and squirrels at our feeders. Hope you all have a good day out there cozied up with a good book or maybe a nice hot fire and someone to have delicious fresh baked cookies and a cup of tea with…..even if it's over the phone!

We recently opened up the final phase of the Home which includes a great room for a little larger group activity. Some of the folks christened it with Pumpkin making and some did Laundry Folding. It's a great meeting room in the center of the building where folks from all corners can meet and see friends from the different Lanes. Happy Monday and let's hope for snow soon!

A good Friday afternoon to all – we’ve finished up the week with great evening entertainment with Andrew MacDougall, there’s something special about Residents having a little dance before bed or a nice song, sung outside their bedrooms – sweet dreams!
On another note, we are wishing our Keira, bushels and bushels of good wishes as she moves on to a new adventure – may all good things come your way xo – Happy Friday to all from our Home to yours – and safe travels wherever the road takes you……..

Omni Quality Living is celebrating their 50th anniversary this year and here at ACH we held a party to recognize this milestone. Residents, families, and staff enjoyed a picture-perfect afternoon with music, games, the Beaver Tail Truck, sweet dogs and gorgeous cake and sweets. Thank you as well to the following agencies for their kind contributions towards our 50th anniversary celebration - Mimak Care; Quality Care Solutions; 3 Angels Healthcare, much appreciated! We would also like to thank the staff who worked so well together in preparation for - and the day of. Together we make a great team!

Another week has come and gone and here we are nudging into September. We’ve had good music; some great weather to get outside, loved every raindrop, and enjoyed more corn on the cob and had a Taco Tuesday. We are looking forward to seeing you soon – a safe and happy long weekend from our Home to yours.... xo
