Shoulders & Hips Unlocked — class highlights at

Not your typical “hips + shoulders” class.

We went unconventional — building hip stability first, then layering in core strength, ankle stability, and foot strength to support the whole chain.

Because hips don’t work in isolation.

Neither do shoulders.
Strong feet + stable ankles + responsive core = joints that move better and feel safer.

This class was about:
• control before range
• stability before stretch
• strength that supports freedom of movement

Less forcing.
More intelligence.
Movement that actually carries into real life.

✨ This weekend felt like a New Wave — and a full circle ✨

After some time away, I’m returning to teaching full time — not as I was before, but shaped by experience, change, and everything life placed in between. A new wave, not a reset.

The Open House on Saturday at Side Door Studio Alliston - my new “baby”- reminded me why I’ve always been drawn to teaching. People arrived curious, some unsure, and left more open, steadier, lighter. That quiet shift still feels like the heart of this work.

On Sunday afternoon we shared a Sound Bath with the teachers at Side Door Studio Angus. Resting in sound rather than effort, I remembered that this is a place where my own return to yoga — and to myself — began almost three years ago. That was the first ripple.

Earlier on Sunday we gathered as the Alliston team, sitting on the floor, sharing intentions and ideas.
For me, it felt like standing at the shoreline again. Before the pandemic, before life reshaped everything, I once held space in my own studio.
Being here now isn’t going back — it’s moving forward with depth, resilience, and trust.

Famous soviet movie quote says: “Life only starts at 40”.

I’m excited to announce that I’m officially joining Side Door Studio Alliston as a partner, alongside two incredible women — Laura and Tiffany, the talented owners of Side Door Studio Angus.

If you know me, you know how much I love movement, community, and helping people feel stronger, mobile, and more confident in their bodies. This partnership feels like a natural next step — a place where our combined experience, creativity, and passion can truly grow.

✨ Laura brings her calming presence, restorative magic, and Reiki/meditation wisdom.
✨ Tiffany brings her depth in Therapeutic Yoga and Ayurveda-inspired well-being.
✨ And I bring my love for mobility, strength, functional movement, and my NotYoga50+ approach.

Together, we’re creating a space in Alliston that is welcoming, modern, warm, and built for every body — from complete beginners to active adults to seasoned yogis.

Balance isn’t just about holding still — it’s a mental practice, a way of being.

In Trikonasana, the body reaches in all directions — strength, openness, expansion — yet the mind stays calm and steady. That’s true balance: staying centered while life keeps moving.

For me, it’s more than a pose. It’s a reflection of my life — between teaching yoga, training for triathlon, cheering at my grandkids’ races, and exploring new places.
The rhythm changes, but the center stays.

It’s not about perfection — it’s about presence.
Finding clarity in motion, peace in effort, and joy in the process.

Every time I step into this shape, I remind myself:
🌿 Stay grounded in what matters.
🌊 Keep an open heart toward what’s coming.
🔥 And remember — balance begins in the mind long before it shows in the body.

✨ Keep expanding. Keep exploring. Keep returning to center.
