Puzzle Competition!

Get ready for a fun and fast-paced Puzzle Competition at the Lakeshore Regional Wellness Centre!

Each team will receive the same 500-piece puzzle and compete to see who can complete it the fastest. Teams may have up to four players, and kids are welcome to join in the fun.

The competition will take place on Friday, April 17 at 7:00 p.m. in the Access Credit Union Studio. The cost is $20 per team.

The bar will be open for those who would like to enjoy a refreshment while they compete.Gather your team, sharpen your strategy, and get ready for a great night of friendly competition!

Check out this week's schedule! We have some new programming happening at the LRWC.

Stroller Strides will happen Wednesday from 10AM to 11AM. Bring the stroller and the little ones and get some steps in! Listen to music or an ebook, or visit with a fellow parent.

Yoga is on Sundays from 9AM to 10AM with Aayushi. $10 fee on top of membership/drop in.

Zumba with Aayushi will follow yoga on Sundays from 10:30AM to 11:30AM. Get that body moving and burn those calories! $10 fee on top of membership/drop in.

Seed Starting and Transplanting Workshop

Calling all gardeners! The Lakeshore Regional Wellness Centre is pleased to offer a two-part Seed Starting and Transplanting Workshop led by Alann Fraser, a certified Manitoba Master Gardener.

Session One:
March 28 10:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m.
Participants will learn how to successfully start seeds at home, including selecting the proper soil and applying effective seed-starting techniques. During this hands-on session, we will plant tomatoes, peppers, two varieties of flowers, and two varieties of herbs. All equipment and materials are provided, and participants will take home the seeds they have planted.

Session Two:
April 25 10:00–11:30 a.m.
Participants will return to transplant their seedlings and learn best practices to support healthy plant growth. Each participant will take home their transplanted plants.
The cost for both sessions is $40. Non-members are required to pay the applicable drop-in fee in addition to the workshop cost. The workshop will take place in the Access Credit Union Studio. Pre-registration is required by March 21. To register, please sign up at the LRWC. Space is limited—reserve your spot early and get a strong start on your gardening season!

Stroller Strides

The Lakeshore Regional Wellness Centre is pleased to announce that beginning Wednesday, February 26, baby strollers will be permitted on the Co-Op Community Walking Track from 10:00–11:00 a.m. each week. Walking and jogging will continue as usual during this time. To help protect the Fieldhouse surface and ensure safety for all participants, we ask that stroller wheels be cleaned before entering. Clean indoor shoes are required at all times when using the Fieldhouse. We hope that you enjoy this opportunity for caregivers to connect with one another while enjoying a healthy walk in a welcoming environment. There is no charge for members. Drop-ins are welcome at a rate of $10 for adults, $5 for seniors and youth, and free for children ages three and under.

We are pleased to introduce Sunday Morning Yoga at the Lakeshore Regional Wellness Centre! Led by Health and Fitness Promoter Aayushi Shah, this class offers a welcoming and accessible opportunity to improve flexibility, build strength, and support overall well-being. Participants are encouraged to wear comfortable clothing suitable for stretching and movement, and to bring a water bottle and yoga mat. The centre does have a few yoga mats available to borrow for the class. Yoga will take place every Sunday from 9:00–10:00 a.m. The cost is $10 per class, payable in cash, please. Participants must also be members of the Centre or pay the applicable drop-in fee. Start your Sunday with intention, movement, and a positive boost for the week ahead.

Zumba!

We are thrilled to announce the addition of Zumba classes at the Lakeshore Regional Wellness Centre! Led by Health and Fitness Promoter Aayushi Shah, this high-energy dance fitness program is fun, welcoming, and suitable for a wide range of ages. Participants are encouraged to wear comfortable clothing that allows for movement and to bring a water bottle and clean indoor shoes. Zumba will take place every Sunday from 10:30–11:30 a.m., alternating weekly between two age groups: 16-adult and ages 5–16. The cost is $10 per class, payable in cash, please. Participants must also be members of the Centre or pay the applicable drop-in fee. The first class will be held on March 1 and will be for participants aged 16 and over. Our first Youth class will be Mar. 8. Come ready to move, sweat, and have fun!

Hello everyone!

Our new door FOB system has been installed and is ready for use! Members MUST come to the Wellness Center to register for this new system. The door codes will be deactivated following registration and you will not have access if you did not get your FOB. Please see the registration schedule below, and choose a time that is convenient for you. Please note there is a $20 fully refundable deposit for each FOB.

Thursday February 19 - 1pm to 8pm

Friday February 20 - 1pm - 5pm

Saturday February 21 - 10am to 12pm, 1pm to 6pm

If you cannot make any of these times, please email Karen at memberships@lrwellness.ca to arrange an appointment.

As a reminder, FOB/code entry to the Wellness Center is for members only. IF members choose to bring a guest, they must sign the guest book, pay the appropriate drop in fee, and fill out a gym waiver if applicable.

Recently we have been monitoring members bringing in guests without sign ins and drop in fees being paid. Going forward, this may lead to termination of membership to the facility.
