Oh, winter.

Oh, highway driving.

For those of you who know me, I'll drive through pretty much anything.

Except when there are 60+ km/hr winds and snow.

Sidenote: it was garbage day today and my garbage can may have been blown to Winnipeg. 🤣

✨ HAPPY FRIDAY, EVERYONE! ✨

We’ve been bursting to share this exciting clinic news… and today’s the day! 🎉

Please join us in giving a warm welcome to Baljeet, the newest member of our clinic family and community! 🙌💙

Starting THIS MONDAY, December 15, Baljeet will be joining us in Ashern as a Physiotherapy Exam Candidate, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to have him on board. His passion, fresh perspective, and dedication to care will be an incredible addition to our team and to the community we serve.

Here is a little bit about Baljeet in his own words:
"My name is Baljeet Singh Bangar, and I am excited to begin my career as a Physiotherapy Exam candidate at CT Physiotherapy! I earned my Bachelor of Physiotherapy degree from Rajasthan University of Health Science, Jaipur in India. I arrived in Canada as an International student in 2015 and completed the Fitness and Health Promotion programme at Fanshawe College in London, Ontario. I am passionate about active living and enjoy helping people regain strength, mobility, confidence and return to the activities they enjoy. I aim to provide evidence-based, personalized care to help clients achieve long-term, sustainable improvement. I am excited to become part of the community here in Ashern and look forward to supporting patients/clients on their rehabilitation journey.

Outside of my professional interests, I am passionate about sprinting. It is one of my favourite pursuits. I also enjoy outdoor activities like Cycling and camping. "

Help us give Baljeet a big Ashern welcome as he starts this new chapter! 👏💫 We’re excited for the fresh energy and dedication he’ll bring to our team and look forward to the great care he’ll provide in our community. 💙

Let's talk about rural health care in Manitoba!

Our clinic is in the Interlake Eastern Regional Health Authority - *note* we are a private clinic.

It's important to know the logistics of the new services the province announces. Sometimes for rural and northern folks, having services closer south doesn't really change anything.

What do you think?

Caitlin celebrated her 5th wedding anniversary last week and finally had the reception party they didn't get because of stupid COVID! It was a heck of a party and it was so fun to hang out before to get hair and makeup done!

We think we clean up pretty nicely and wanted to share a picture as we'd been talking about it with lots of our patients 😁😁

Thanks Heather for the picture!

Happy weekend, all!

Wednesday was Take Your Kid to Work Day, and this year we had Kasey join us! Kasey is Meghan's "middle child" and wanted to spend the day with Caitlin because "mom's job is boring".
Kasey got to see firsthand a variety of injuries and conditions that we can treat. Caitlin was in her element, both helping patients and mentoring young minds.
We had a great, busy day, and Meghan is happy the chaos was kept to a minimum (Kasey and Caitlin are 2 peas in a pod)!

Cold and Flu season is here. Germs are flying all over the place.

Long story short, if you're sick, we want you to stay home. Call us and we can reschedule.

We serve all sorts of people, and many of those really can't afford to get even a small cold passed on to them. So while it may not be a big deal to you, the next person that comes in could catch it from you and take it home to their loved one that has cancer and has no immune system. If they get sick, it could be deadly.

We have notices posted everywhere and a reminder about this policy included in all of our emails. If you are sick, give us a call with as much notice as possible, and we will get you in once you're feeling better.
Not sure if you should cancel or not? Give us a shout at 204-768-4876, and we can see what's going on and go from there.

Like we always say: There's life outside of physio, we get it. Better to be safe than sorry.

👟👟 Not sure what runners to get your kids? Maybe you're waiting for that growth spurt to come before you splurge?

Things are getting a bit out of control with the amount of cushion in footwear....don't get us started on the clickbaor marketing about needing fancy, schmancy footwear. 🫠🫠

Kids don't need anything fancy. Buy the cheap shoes from Walmart and let their feet do their job!

Let us know if you have any other questions or need some recommendations!

How CT Physiotherapy ended up in Ashern!

The inception of CT Physiotherapy in Ashern can accurately be described in one word: random!

In Winter 2016 a local Ashern-ite and friend was telling Caitlin about his low back pain and the accessibility issues of physiotherapy for the surrounding area. He was able to get to a clinic after driving for more than an hour, and had all of the magic of his treatment unravel on the way back home.

Caitlin learned about an opportunity to rent a room in a local business on Main Street in Ashern. With nothing to lose, she jumped in with both feet and what she likes to call ‘a crumpled paper napkin business plan’. Not really knowing what to expect, she felt at ease knowing no matter how things would turn out she would take away a valuable life learning experience.

It’s important to note that Caitlin was born and raised in Winnipeg and was working full time when she decided to start driving up to Ashern on Saturdays. You can imagine the eyebrows that were raised, along with lots of comments of ‘What?’, ‘Where?’, ‘Seriously?’, ‘Why?!’
