We’re so excited to welcome Jenessa to the Rocky View Speech Therapy team! 👋

Jenessa is a registered Speech-Language Pathologist with more than 15 years of experience supporting children and families. She believes learning should be fuelled by curiosity, encouragement, and joy, and she brings that mindset into every session. For Jenessa, being an SLP is not just about helping kids learn, it is also about continually learning herself so she can best support each child’s unique journey. 💙

Her path into the field began with a Bachelor of Arts in Linguistics at the University of Calgary, followed by her Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology at the University of Alberta. Over the years, she has added training in literacy, brain development, language, social communication, and speech sound skills. 📚

Jenessa has worked with children and teens from 1 to 17 years old in schools, child care, and clinic settings, and she now brings that wealth of knowledge to private practice. She especially loves helping kids grow in literacy, pre-literacy, language, and speech sound skills, always with a focus on strong relationships, problem-solving, and teamwork with families and educators.

Outside of work, Jenessa is usually found singing, baking, hiking, traveling, or diving into new things to learn. 🎶🍰🌍

We’re so grateful for the passion and experience she brings, and we know our families will love working with her. Welcome, Jenessa! 🌟

Most of the time, our SLPs come right to your home for sessions. However, some families tell us that online sessions are the best fit for them. Maybe it saves them from rushing around, or maybe their child feels calmer and more focused or maybe it just works better for their schedule.

Here are a few reasons families sometimes choose teletherapy:

1. Shorter, focused sessions can be easier for kids to manage

2. Parents can watch and learn strategies to try between sessions

3. New people in your child’s environment can feel overwhelming, and online sessions ease that stress

4. A great option if you live outside the areas our SLPs usually travel to

We love being able to offer both in-home and online sessions, so you can choose what feels right. If you want to see if teletherapy could be a fit, fill out the form on our website.
