Thank you Minister Vijay Thanigasalam for speaking at the Addictions and Mental Health Ontario Conference this morning. Thank you, also, for the investments the Ontario government have made in the past. The programs and services offered by the community mental health and addictions sector across Ontario is a critical component of the broader health system, supporting individuals on their journey, reducing the number people entering hospital emergency departments, and reducing overall health system costs. Without stable, sustained investments in these organizations, wait lists will continue to grow and Ontarians will not be able to access much needed programs and services in a reasonable time. We are collaborating to build a system that is culturally safe and responsive and will be ready for Ontarians when they need it. Stable, sustained investments from the provincial government will help to ensure that our programs and services will continue to be available to Ontarians.

Today is International Volunteer Day and we wish to thank and recognize our Client & Family Advisory Council Members and our Board of Directors. This yearโ€™s theme is Every Contribution Matters, and here, at Addiction Services Central Ontario, we witness the power of the contributions our volunteers make. To our Client & Family Advisory Council and our Board of Directors, your leadership, commitment and support of ASCO is recognized and very much appreciated.

We also want to recognize and thank everyone who volunteered at A Touch of Art. Thank you for your generosity.
