Misinformation can be a dangerous thing. When it comes to homelessness, there are many unfounded myths and stereotypes. These false narratives are particularly troublesome, as they add to the further stigmatization of a group of people already unfairly criticized and judged by the public. The truth is that homelessness is an unfortunate reality for many people in our society. It's only by addressing these myths and deconstructing them that we will be able to create a society in which people feel comfortable reaching out for help.

Food insecurity is an critical issue at all times of the year, including during the holidays.

"The Food Bank of York Region and its team of volunteers will be individually hand-packing 1,706 holiday-themed food hampers, filled with non-perishable meal items, to be delivered to targeted residents who live in low and moderate-income areas within the region."

Low and moderate-income residents in high-needs areas have been deemed eligible to receive the Christmas hampers as additional food support for the holidays
