Yup!!!!! People think funny things like "bundle up warm so you don't catch a cold" lol 😂 🤣
There is an oversimplification when it comes to fall and winter Illnesses and the lowering of the immune system.
Yes - people are indoors in close proximity a lot more & those that live in northern climates do usually struggle more.
In fact - last winter I did more consultations with Canadians than any other demographic.
But as Dr. Jack Kruse says - “Every story about health is also a story about light” & the further north you live - the less UV & infrared light you are also exposed to - even if you go outside.
When you understand how UV & infrared light affects everything from our s*x & thyroid hormone production to melatonin - our master repair hormone to our hydration status (ability to make intracellular water) - you understand the impact that light has on every organ system in the body.
As far as the zinc & vitamin D goes - taking those alone can be very dangerous & lead to other imbalances in the body (another post on that coming very soon).
If you want to take your elderberry- go ahead - but if you aren’t taking care of your circadian rhythms & your overall light environment, it’s not going to be as effective.
So what can you do?
Circadian rhythms - red light therapy - cold acclimation/exposure & sauna can actually go a long way when done with proper nuance.
Whether or not you should use tanning beds is highly individual- and I will be addressing questions like this & so many more at my upcoming webinar “Winter is coming” on Sunday September 25th at 4pm EST.
There’s a link in my bio that gives the run down of topics, a way to sign up & there will be time for Q&A also!
If you can’t attend live - you will be given the opportunity to submit questions in advance & everyone will have lifetime access to the recording- resource guide and slides!
