Consider sharing your experience in the Waterloo Region Immigration Partnership survey. They would love to hear from immigrants, refugees, international students, temporary workers and their families about their experiences living, working and studying in Waterloo Region.
Waterloo Region Immigration Partnership has launched the 2026 Immigrant Survey, running until May 31. This survey is for all immigrants, refugees, claimants, international students, temporary workers, and their families in Waterloo Region. It’s an opportunity to share experiences of living, working and studying, while building a prosperous community for everyone.
“When immigrants succeed, our entire region benefits,” said Dr. Ernest Osei, Chair of the Immigration Partnership. “This survey gives us the insight needed to build a stronger, more inclusive and prosperous community for everyone. We encourage all newcomers to participate and influence the future of our community.”
Over 60 immigrant and community service, business, municipal, and post-secondary partners across Waterloo Region will use the results to develop policies and programs that better serve and empower immigrants and others to reach their full potential. Prof. Jenna Hennebry, Co-Director of the International Migration Research Centre, stated, “Good decisions require good data. This survey will capture voices not commonly heard in decision making and help local organizations respond to emerging needs and opportunities as the region grows.”
The survey takes 10-20 minutes and aims to hear from 2,000 immigrants on topics including education, housing, employment, health, belonging, discrimination, community building, and more. Demographic questions are included so results can be analyzed to show the various experiences of different immigrant groups.
The survey is available online, and email, phone, or paper options can be provided if needed. It is available in seven languages: French, Arabic, Spanish, Tigrinya, Ukrainian, Chinese and Serbian.
People who complete the survey can enter a draw for prizes including a $200 gift certificate, three $100 gift certificates, and ten $10 Tim Hortons gift cards.
The Immigration Partnership and the International Migration Research Centre invite all residents, organizations, and businesses in Waterloo Region to be an Immigrant Survey ambassador - help encourage immigrants to participate among family, friends, neighbourhoods, at work, and through other networks and social media.
