A not-for-profit body dedicated to advancing healthy lifestyle opportunities for the village of Baddeck and surrounding areas.

Members, we need assistance transporting two new pieces of equipment from HRM to Baddeck within the next week. If someone is going to HRM with a truck or trailer, that can help us out, please contact us ASAP. The seller can load the skids with a forklift when being picked up.

In addition to transport, we will also need volunteers to unload the equipment at the gym and move old items out.

Thanks to Kevin MacLean from Bidarts who was able to get us up and running. Officially cleared by the Office of the Fire Marshall to reopen.

Sprinkler contractor will be at the Baddeck Gym on Sunday April 12th to make the necessary repairs. Hopefully we will be up and running shortly after.

Due to unforeseen circumstances involving the fire/sprinkler system, the gym will be closed effective immediately, as ordered by the Deputy Fire Marshal.

The gym will remain closed tomorrow (April 9th)

We will provide an update when we can expect to reopen as soon as possible.

Elecrical for the new rowing machine is now complete. Big thanks to Carl at Watts His Name Electric for the instal. Anyone wanting to go and row, can join the Baddeck Gym for $35/month (3 months min). Check out our website. www.baddeckgym.com

We are happy to announce the arrival of some brand new equipment at the gym. Many thanks to the Nova Scotia Government (Department of Communities, Culture, Tourism and Heritage) and the Municipality of the County of Victoria, Nova Scotia for their financial support to keep our community fit and healthy. With their assistance, we were able to purchase a new recumbent bike, an inclined bench, and a rowing machine. We need to install a new electrical plug to get power to the rowing machine, but rest assured, we’re working on it.

Big thanks to Vince and Roland for helping us move some equipment and cleaning the gym to make the space ready to receive some new equipment. More updates to follow.

Volunteers Needed. Saturday at 10:00 am we are needing to exit some of the old equipment to the dump to make room for new equipment arriving on Monday, March 31. We can definitely use a few extra hands to move equipment and clean the gym to welcome the new equipment to its new home.
