15 years ago today, First Step Physiotherapy started with just Sara and a simple goal — to help people move and feel better.

Since then, we’ve grown into a team offering physiotherapy, kinesiology, occupational therapy and dietitian services, and have expanded these services into local long-term care homes in the community. We’re also excited to be expanding once again as we're in the process of growing our clinic space and our team!

We’re proud of how far we’ve come and of our amazing team at First Step, and equally as grateful for the patients and community who’ve supported us along the way.

Thank you for trusting us with your care over the past 15 years and looking forward to many more!

24 years ago classmates and best friends, Matthew and Connor made The Victoria Standard. Now, co-workers and still best friends, they exchanged their ribbon for an exercise band. We are so happy to have these guys as part of the team!

Yesterday, sporting their new Baddeck hoodies from SAND & SOULS, these two young entrepreneurs set up a table selling flower bouquets and lemonade outside the clinic! They decided to give half the proceeds towards a new rink in Baddeck. Big thank you to our first step patients for their generous support!

The annual Sandbagger fundraiser was a huge success, helping raise money for a new arena in Baddeck. As always the organizers did a great job, making this event truly special! The highlight for us was acquiring our "White Whale" at the auction.... a signed Connor McDavid jersey!!! What a day!

Make sure you get your smile cookies at Tim Hortons in Baddeck and We'koqma'q this week! Proceeds will go towards the VHCC Redevelopment Project to help fund a new arena in our village. The cookie campaign ends May 4th... we made sure to get ours, you should too!

About a year and a half ago, Adam's parents approached Connor to help their son gain strength and size to make the jump to highschool basketball. This past weekend Adam was able to help lead the Baddeck Broncos to the gold medal in the New Years Tip Off Tournament. Collecting the tournament MVP honors, as a Grade 9 student, along the way! Great work Adam and Connor! Connor's available for strength training for all ages and conditions. Call 902-295-9115 to set up a session.

Congratulations to Tara and Emma for winning the New Years Tip Off Tournament with the Baddeck Bronco Girls. They recently completed their Coop placement for the Option and Opportunities program at Baddeck Academy with Sara at First Step Physiotherapy. Emma was finals MVP and Tara was tournament MVP! We're very proud of their accomplishments and loved having them at the clinic. Great role models for all the kids that look up to them. Way to go girls!

4 weeks ago, Elijah had a bad ankle sprain after he twisted it in a game that would put his last ever grade 12 Tip Off Tournament in jeopardy. He ended up getting back on his feet just in time to play with the help of Matthew at First Step Physiotherapy. Baddeck boys ended up winning and Elijah was awarded MVP in the championship game! Congrats to the Baddeck Broncos!
