Dr. Laura Peckford

Dr. Peckford was born and raised in Lewisporte, NL. She currently operates as general dentist and co-owner of clinics in Grand Falls-Windsor and Baie Verte.

Known for her gentle approach, she thrives on creating a lighthearted, comfortable environment for patients of all ages. You’ll typically find her laughing, conversing and comforting her patients while enjoying all aspects of dentistry.

When she’s not in scrubs, Dr. Peckford enjoys an active lifestyle in the gym and outside; travelling, playing goalie in hockey or broomball, and spending time with her dog Lucy, as well as family and friends.

Meet the Dentist 👋 🦷
Dr. Dena Pourhamzeh

Dr. Dena first visited Newfoundland before dental school and quickly fell in love with its natural beauty and welcoming culture. A proud Nova Scotian, she returned to Atlantic Canada after completing her dental education in Ireland to begin her career.

She enjoys all aspects of dentistry and offers oral sedation and nitrous oxide for patients who would benefit from extra comfort. Above all, Dr. Dena truly cares about her patients—taking the time to listen, ease their stress, and create a calm, positive experience at every visit.

In her time off, she enjoys hiking, travelling, and spending quality time with her loved ones.

Gander Family Dental would like to introduce the newest member of our team, Dr. Saina Shirazi.

With over 20 years of clinical experience treating pediatric patients, Dr. Saina Shirazi will be providing pediatric focused dental care, one week per month, starting in May 2025, at Gander Family Dental Clinic.

She limits her practice to providing oral healthcare for children and adolescents only.

Dr. Saina Shirazi is now accepting new pediatric patients.
