COVID-19 vaccine update:

As of March 2026, pharmacies are now able to give publicly funded COVID-19 vaccines!

Qualifications for these vaccines include:
- Anyone over 80 years of age
- Those over 65 years of age with a chronic health condition, such as diabetes or asthma
- Those over 11 years of age who are severely immunocompromised or undergoing cancer treatment

If you have already received a vaccine, you are eligible for another one as long as it has been 3 months since your last.

If you are not eligible for a provincially funded COVID-19 vaccine, you can still purchase one, and most private insurance plans cover it.

Meet Melissa! 🌍💊

For the past 6 years (with a couple of maternity adventures in between!), our pharmacist, Melissa, has been keeping our patients healthy and happy. She’s the first to offer advice on over-the-counter medications and will spend all the time you need to discuss your prescriptions.

Outgoing, organized, and always smiling, she lives by “work hard and play harder” and loves heading home for family time with her husband and three kids.

COVID-19 vaccinations look a little different this year...

The Alberta government is providing free COVID-19 vaccines for vulnerable populations, including seniors in long-term care, health-care workers, and people with underlying medical conditions, through Alberta public health clinics (i.e., the Banff Health Unit). Please call 811 for more information.

All other Albertans can also get the COVID-19 vaccines, at a fee. At Gourlay’s we will continue to offer COVID-19 vaccinations. Kindly note the cost of this vaccination is $140, but MOST private insurance plans do cover it.
